SOURCE: searching for base

My long-term experience with these phones is that occasionally, they get themselves into some kind of weird state: this is usually indicated by the flashing "searching" message.

In all cases it's been cured by unplugging the power supply AND the phone-line (both simultaneously) from the base, waiting a few seconds, then re-connecting. Normally this sorts things out, but will require you to re-set time& date (the base can sometimes still derive power from the incoming 50v line). Batteries out of handsets is a last (addtional) resort. I've very rarely had to re-register.

SOURCE: Phone wont ring

Per the manual, If there is a musical note in the display with a slash thru it, you have turned off the ringer. You have done this by pressing and holding the # button.
If you have the manual it's on the bottom of page 20 and continues on 21.
If not follow these steps.

Press Menu
Press CID/PBK (Personal set)
Press Menu (Handset Tone)
Press Menu (Ring Tone)
Press Menu and then CID/PBK to select the volume you want
Press Menu (Save Setting)

click this link to get the manual

Panasonic land phone KXTG4021 base stop recording incomming mesaagesPerson calls and the phone does not stop ringing and does not allow caller to leave a message

Has the answering system been turned off? Check the base, there is an Answer On button with a LED indicator. If the light is off, press the Answer On button. From the handset when the phone is in Standby, press Menu/OK and navigate to Answering Device using the Up/Down arrows. Press Menu/OK to enter the Answering Device menu. Use the arrows to go to the Answer On and press Menu/OK. Then press Off to exit the menu system. If you are calling into the phone, you can turn on the answering system. Let the phone ring 15 times followed by a long beep, then enter your remote code within 10 seconds. Either hang up or do any remote operations. Note: pressing 0 will turn off the answering system.

When you set up the ring count, the maximum rings before the system picks up is 7. In Toll Saver, the phone rings twice if there are new messages and 5 times otherwise before you hear the greeting. Even when the recording space is full, your greeting or a pre-recorded "mailbox full" statement will play. (Note: some of these systems allow for a greeting to play without saving any messages. This is controlled by the "recording time" option.)

I hope this helps. See the manual for the KX-TG4021 on the support page: https://shop.panasonic.com/support-only/KX-TG4021N.html. The current link to the manual is https://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tg4011_mul_om.pdf . Start on page 27 for the Answering Device information.

Can't receive incoming calls. Phone rings once & stops so person calling can't leave a message. Unplugged adapter for 3 minutes from wall outlet then unplugged from base and reconnected both.

Unplug ALL phones and call it. If it rings once the goes dead that is "Tripping the Ring" Generally caused by a wet connection. There is a location on the side of your house where you can disconnect your house wiring from the phone company. Disconnect and try there. If it trips then it is the phone company's problem and not yours.

Good luck

I want to know how to link my 2 cordless phones to my base they only say unavailable

I called ge directly in california and they went through the same steps that are in the manual and it didn't work the last step might prove usefull to some of you. You have to reset your phone. First unplug the power cord then unplug the phone cord. Leave them unplugged for 15 minutes. Then reverse the process of plugging them in. That will reset your phone and that may work for you. It didn't work for me so they told me to buy a new phone. So I did. Hopefully that helps some of you.

Uniden 5.8Ghz phone.

You need to reset the main base unit. Unplug the power from the back of the base. While the power is disconnected, press and hold the delete key while reconnecting the power. Wait for a long beep tone. When the display shows 88 or P, press play button one time. If you have a phone without an answering machine, disconnect the power from the back of the base, press and hold find hs button while reconnecting power.

Phone not ringing

Just recently the Innovage LED touch screen phone stopped ringing. It has worked perfectly as a home office phone since Oct. 2005. Cannot find anything in the tiny manual to correct this problem.
