They are transistors. Either MOSFETs or bipolar. With MOSFET the metal can is the drain and the pins are gate and source. With bipolar transistors the can is the collector and the pins are base and emitter. The emitters and sources usually have big wirewound resistors connected to them. If not, they'll at least be connected to the heavier tracks on the pcb

SOURCE: Pioneer SA-9500 Extremely Loud Crackling

The volume control and tone controls are dirty as well as the selection switch. This is common for older units. These controls and switches need to be cleaned with an electronic switch cleaner which should be available from an electronics store. Spray each control/switch and work them (turn repeatedly). Repeat this procedure a number of times and the accumulated dust/dirt will be cleaned and the unit should no longer have the problem.

Please note that it is possible that there is a transistor or 2 that are breaking down that can cause this as well. If the cleaning does not resolve the problem, let us know.

SOURCE: OUTSIDE SHOWER OF A POP-UP NOT WORKING

I get this on my boat from time to time...bugs or spiders crawl up into the valves and block them. Look for an inline filter or similar device near the shower faucet that needs cleaning. Good luck.

SOURCE: I have a pioneer sa-8100

Could be a lot of things. More triage is needed.

Have you done any isolation to prove/disprove a certain source, channel cable or speaker are NOT the problem first?

Need service manual for pioneer sa-600

Head straight to the (European) electrotanya website, which offers free downloads of a wide range of service manuals. No registration is required either.

The Pioneer SA-600 schematic shows both voltages and currents. For this amp, the total current for left & right output modules (no signal) is 60mA. No-load voltage is 58 volts, dropping to 48 volts (one channel driven, 25 watts out).

Pioneer model SA 9500 stereo amplifier problems.

Is the dc voltage reading on the base of the outputs 0.6 with emitters reading 0.014 or there about. Depending on the outputs used you might read 1.2volts on the base. Your collectors will read the power supply voltage of 50 or 60volts or more. If this is what you are reading on your meter the problem is in the speaker protection circuit. This circuit is what drives the relay you tested.

I have white sticky goo in side my pa amp a dap 1200 watts

That white sticky goo is heat sink compound to help dissipate heat from the transistors to the heat sink of the amplifier.

Ater the electric company spiked my house I am left with a CAL cl-15 blowing fuses and a Classe CA-201 with a dead left channel. Any thoughts?

Anything that blows a fuse has an overload caused by a faulty part. The suspects are the transformer, rectifier, voltage regulator and the large Electrolitic capacitors - all in the power supply section. In amps the devices on the heat sink can cause the fuse to blow.
Again the main suspect in the dead left device is also whatever is on the heat sink. However if can't hear any music etc playing even at full volume on the left you could have lost the left pre-amp stage, but I myself would stick to whatever is on the heat sink as the cause of the trouble.

Pioneer power amp m-770 keeps blowing the 6.3 amp fuse what could be wrong?

Suspect an overload in the power supply or audio output stage.
Power supply culprits include transformer, the big capacitors, diodes, bridge rectifier, voltage regulator etc.
Audio culprits are anything on the heat sink(s).
Look for burnt, damaged parts too, anything running very hot!
Follow the circuit from the fuse see where it takes you too start.

Surround Sound Pioneer Amp # VSX-604S 10 to 15 years old- All functions work well EXcept Left channel produces frequent crackeling noise. Sometimes it is intermittent--Sometimes it's clear for an hour or...

Try swapping everything external to the amp with another channel to see if it follows. Could be the speaker wire or the speaker. If it stays on the same output then it's time for a new amp.

Ecofan only turns slowly

These fans can be rebuilt! Like many others, our fan died after being placed in the center of the stove top. I took the two halves of the fan body apart, and scraped the heat sink compound off either side of the power plate. I then applied CPU heat sink compound that can be found at any computer or electronics store liberally to either side, and put it back together. The fan spins like new, spread the word!

Internal amp description on the pioneer deh-3500

Look for a large integrated circuit that is bolted to the heat sink. It probably has about 15 to 20 leads coming out of the bottom edge. Be sure that if you replace it that you apply some fresh heat sink "grease" between the IC and the heat sink. Good luck and I hope you have a soldering iron and solder sucker.
