Where the code is listed as [### ###] the first is for the DVD and the second is for the VCR. Otherwise just the one code operates both the DVD and the VCR.

I have a Sylvania SRD3900 DVD Player / VCR Combo that I purchased about 6 years ago. The VCR part is causing problems. When I try to play movies the picture is distorted with no sound, but it plays back...

The tracking needs to be adjusted. Sometimes it's a knob on the VCR, and sometimes it's a control on the remote. Adjust it for the best picture, and the sound shoud be restored.

The VCR is stuck on SP when recording movies how do you change that?

There should be a switch, button on the front of the unit SP/LP or similar, you toggle that. It may also be a function under the remote.in setup.

tracking should be automatic nowadays with VCR's, so you may have to have it professionally cleaned unless you know how to do it, most likely a store bought cleaner will probably not work.

Sylvania srd3900 error 2

Found no info in manual but cleaned tape heads and able to watch tapes. I don't know if this completely fixed problem because tape watched was not best quality.

Disc stuck in player.

Turned vcr player upside down and with a little maneuvering the disc came out.
