Replacing the battery should have reset the computer to "factory defaults". If the computer worked before the battery change, it should have just worked. No PROGRAMMING is needed for it to function. Check the following.

Make certain that you have all of the plugs reconnected through out the entire machine.

Check the plugs that you messed with.,Sometimes it is possible to have the plug off of one of the end pins It can appear to be plugged in but it is off by a single pin.

Make sure that you have all of the power indicators lit (LED's) on your power distribution unit.

Be sure that you installed the battery correctly. Sometimes the replacement batteries can have a different appearance from the original. You must look to see if the polarity of the battery is correct. The board & the battery should be marked. + & -..

Push on all the chips that are set in sockets. These can back out over the years. This is called "chip Creep"

Examine the board for poor solder, especially on the "plug" pins.

Also there are 3 (I think) electrolytic capacitors that you may want to change

If none of this gets you going, you may want to try try replacing the computer

Hi-I have a different machine but you can try this-put in service mode-type 3 to select initialize and type 0 which should display full initialize-press popular to start initialization-put switch to normal and close the door-not sure if this will work, but worth a shot.

Hi Ponorosa42,

Do you have the manual for the Rowe Ami R-92?
If not then you need to get one in order to set each location in the menu.
The manual can be purchased in a paper form or on CD from a number of dealers on Ebay.
The paper manuals can be purchased from www.victoryglass.com also a good source for spare parts.

What model is your Rowe Ami jukebox, there will be an information label on the back or inside the jukebox with the serial number and the model type. We can suggest a solution once we know your model type.

I have an ami Rowe Model Laserstar CD100-F Jukebox that I purchased at a fundraiser. It works great but it has somehow switched from the mode where it plays without inserting $ to only playing when you put...

most all "early models: Rowe CD 100 Laserstar's
Put the slide switch in service position. Go past the errors (if any) by pressing Popular and Reset simultaneously then enter "55" the display should say "free play off" then hold down the reset key and push 9. This will toggle between "off" and "on" Toggle until the display indicates free play "on", then release the reset key and press the popular button. Put the service switch back in to the play position, The display should say "FP" however not all models display it exactly the same. If your computer's battery is good this setting will be retained. If you have to load the factory defaults for any reason OR another problem (dead battery) is causing the factory defaults to be loaded when you power on, this free play setting will be reset to "off" after power is interrupted.

Carosel doesnt turn on rowe ami r-82 jukebox

First check to make sure you are getting power to the drive system. If turntable is belt driven, check power to drive motor, then check the belt. Otherwise it is direct drive, which means the turntable is connected directly to ths motor and the motot will have to be replaced.

Hello camillemario,

The problem sounds as if there is a fault on the amplifier.
Pull the 110 volt plug from the power supply that feeds the amplifier.

If the amp is at fault and you are in the USA I would contact Bruce Wentworth for a test/repair to your amplifier.

Rowe Ami R-80 imperial jukebox

Hello Andy,

Yes I know the 1976 Rowe Ami R-80 jukebox very well as well as most of the other Rowe Ami jukeboxes.

The turntable motor and the lighting work off of the 110 volt output from the power supply.
The other power voltages are connected to the power supply via the molex plug.

Pin 1 30VDC white/red
Pin 2 30VAC yellow/black
Pin 3 Common black
Pin 4 Ground gren/yellow
Pin 5 No connection
Pin 6 Common black

All the voltages are protected by circuit breakers.

I assume that you may be in the UK if this is the case here are my contact details.

Song Programming

Hello,

With regards to your problem with the Rowe Ami 100 cd jukebox.
Do you have a manual, if not I suggest you buy a printer manual or one on CD and refer to the Programming and Installation section.

In order for the jukebox to know about the cd's that are installed in the jukebox it has to initialize all or the changed cd's that have been replaced within the jukebox.

Put the jukebox into the Service Mode (the service mode should appear on the display)
Type 3 to select the Initialize sub menu
Type 0 and full initialize will appear on the display
Press Popular to start the initialization
Place the jukebox service switch into the normal mode

Initiazation will take around 30 minutes to complete.

Does not hold memory of programmed options

Hi,

I do not know what type of jukebox you have but the the battery will be in the Central Control Computer, this is the case with the Rowe Ami version of your jukebox. It is a 3 volt lithium (disk type) battery.
