SOURCE: need a downloadable manual for se400 brother

Brother has the manuals for many of their products on their support site. For the SE-400, the English version of the manuals are here: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/us/us/en/doc/manual_index.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=hf_se400eus&dlid=&flang=English&type2=-1 . The direct link to the User's Guide is http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/files/dlf/doch000184/he24lb6768se3540ug04en.pdf . The quick reference guide and manuals for some accessories are listed separately.

I hope this helps.

You will probably need to buy a power converter to convert the 110 to whatever power is used there.

Can't get my Brother Se400 to stitch. It's threaded correct and bobbin is right. Machine will go but not stitch

So, guessing the top and bobbin threads are not forming a stitch.

Install a brand new needle and verify it is installed correctly. If this doesn't help, then the machine is probably knocked out of time. Search for "sewing machine timing" or take it for service.

Why do my needles break only when doing reinforcing stitches?

This may be obvious but are you changing your needles frequently? A blunt or bent needle can cause this.

Lengthening stitches.

You can adjust the length of the Zigzag (Satin)
Stitch using the buttonhole fine-adjusting screw. You will find it right above your stitch selection dial.

> For a longer stitch length, turn the
buttonhole fine-adjusting screw with a large
screwdriver in the + direction.
> For a shorter stitch length, turn the
buttonhole fine-adjusting screw with a large
screwdriver in the - direction.

Hope this helps
