the adsl is cancelled automatically because you have optic fiber you have NBN. you would have been notified by your service provider
if not get onto them and ask why not
contact your telecomm provider to cancel your service, as well as your DSL provider. Possibly one and the same.... their contact information should be on the bills.
Internet Protocol Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line
I think what you are referring to is a fixed IP address, using adsl services
Your internet provider can either assign you a static/fixed ip address, or gave it be dynamic, or random. If it is dynamic, it gets set new everytime your computer begins it's interface with your router.
An adsl modem is the type of modem that allows for high data rate transfers over standard copper lines that are associated with the telephone system. Usually these lines do not carry high bandwidths of data, but an asdl modem aloows for multiple layers of data at once.
My modem ADSL data light keeps flashing and sometimes does not appear affecting my ability to acces the Internet. I usually have to re-boot my computer and this seems to solve the problem for a time. It is very inconsistant and anoying.Thank youM. Davis
ADSL DATA light flashes says there is internet activity (Internet status: Connected)... ADSL DATA when off says there is no internet activity (Internet status: Not Connected)...
This occurs when there is a lot of noise in your telephone line... It is adviced to do a line test in this case to find the amount of noise in your line... If there is a lot of noise your modem will lose the internet connectivity and will try to re-establish the connection with ISP... In this case the ADSL DATA light switches between OFF and ON...
One more thing... ADSL SYNC light should be steady... If it is blinking is says there is no syncronisation between your modem and ISP...
ADSL is a means for transporting data, however it is considered to be at the first physical layer of a 7 layer computer model. Think of it as a Transport only method.
..programs (i.e.software) works at the 7th layer the application layer is the 7th layer....So, what happens is that the data you wish to send out of your software program on your computer travels down through the layers and goes out to the internet on the physical layer...Your programs can be transfered to the computer (not by ADSL) but by a USB port ..via a USB cable or wireless depending on the interface you have on your PDA.
The bottom line is that ADSL simply transfers packets at high speed and does not support running of software....I hope this helps you...BBill01
