You can find the manual for your Sanyo CG9 here.

You should be able to access your files on the camera by plugging the USB cable in and turning the camera on. Then a menu will come up on the camera allowing you to choose "computer" instead of "printer". Then you should be able to choose "Card reader" and your camera will appear as a removable storage device under windows explorer.

I need the software to download and save the videos that are on my sanyo xacti VPC-CG 9 camera to my pc.

The CG9 Users Manual suggests that once the USB cable is connected, a USB menu will pop up on the camera. This is where you can choose for the camera to be a USB Card Reader, allowing you to access your files, rather than it acting like a webcam for example. When acting as a USB card reader, no other drivers are supposed to be required.

You could also try removing the card and placing it in an external USB card reader.

Page 167 in the manual also describes how to get the camera to point your computer to a support website. It says that if the card is removed, and then the cable connected, and then the camera is turned on, a connection menu will popup and "Computer" should be selected, and then "Card Reader" should be selected. Since the card has been removed, an internally stored link is supposed to popup to direct you to the support website.

This is most likely that CG9 Support website.

I cant find or download free software for my xacti

Sanyo seems reluctant to allow people to download the commercial software that is bundled with the camera when you buy it. I have read that you can request a free CDROM from them with some kind of proof of purchase, but I don't see where one can make that request.

You can find the CG9 Support Website here, where there are links to the manuals, and to software with no licensing issues.

You should be able to access the photos and the videos on the camera from your computer without any commercial software. If you can be more specific with what you are trying to do with the camera I can try to help.

I have an xacti VPC-CG9EX camera how do i get the films off it says i can't download my files as windows does not recognise the programme that created it. Still pictures are fine its just the video film we...

Buried in the Sanyo Xacti GC9 Users Manual is a description of how to download the software required. (Page 167 lists the steps to access the weblink stored in the camera.)

Here is Sanyo's Support Page for the CG9.

The shorter answer is that the videos are apple quicktime .MOV format, so you need to install free quicktime drivers from here to view them.

Computer cannot read and play the .mp4 video files from my Sanyo XActi CMOS 1920X 1080 .Is there a software I can download from the net?

Yes.

This is what the Sanyo CG9 Users Manual has to say about viewing videos taken with the camera:

"About video clip files recorded with this camera
You can use Apple’s QuickTime to play back video clips on a computer.
Playback may be possible using other software that supports the ISO
standard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (AAC audio)."

There are many ways to view mpeg-4 videos, but the one that is recommended for your camera from the CG9 support webpage is apple's quicktime available from apple here.

I can't view videos from my CG9 on my pc

To get to the Sanyo website to download software, you must turn off the camera, remove the memory card, plug in the usb to the camera and the computer, and then turn on the camera. Then, if you tell the camera to act as a Card Reader, it will load up the link for the website.

I don't have the camera myself anymore, and the only Sanyo CG9 Support Website I can find doesn't provide links to video software, only free software. Good Luck!

Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9 movie downloading and DVD burning

I always recommend having a version of your users manual on your computer, because it is so much easier to search through the manual quickly to find what you are looking for.

You can find a digital version of the users manual for the Sanyo CG9 here, and you will also find the free software for downloading videos to your computer and watching them there.

Once your videos are on your computer, you can burn a data disc without any commercial software. Some DIVX or XVID dvd players will play these data disks and you can watch your movies like that. An .MP4 data DVD will hold much more video than a standard DVD video disk because it squeezes it much tighter. You can play your .mp4 videos through a PS3 using a data dvd or a thumbdrive.

If you want to convert your mp4 videos to a standard dvd that will play in any dvd player, you will need commercial conversion software such as ULead MovieFactory or Nero Vision. MovieFactory was included with some sanyo camcorders, but if you have lost your disk, they do not allow you to download it from their website.

I hope that helps!

Dvd software for my Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9

You can write a data dvd that will play on any DIVX or XVID dvd player that supports this format:

" ISOstandard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (AAC audio)."

Some Blue-Ray players play this format, like Sony's PS3. The PS3 will play these videos from a thumbdrive.

Some Sanyo camcorders ship with a disk containing commercial software to convert your .MP4 videos to standard dvd video, such as Ulead MovieFactory. If you have lost your disk, Sanyo will not allow you to download it from the website. I cannot recommend where to download commercial software, such as MovieFactory or Nero Vision.
