I have a fridgidaire Frost Free freezer. My kid left the door open about an hour. Finally heard the alarm, and closed the door about 90 minutes ago. Some food defrosted around the edges, but it all looked OK. I just need the alarm off while the freezer gets back to temperature... Help?
My wife solved it for me :-) You turn the alarm off with a switch at the bottom. The alarm turns off, but the light stays red for another 4 hours. After that the red light goes off too, and you can turn the switch back on without the alarm going off, if the freezer is back to operating temp.
Cover fridge with blanket and start swinging the fire axe
that will shut her up
Hello Ron Thacker - Often when the temperature is too cold, it is because the temperature control is set too cold/high. Turn the control to a warmer setting and allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize. If the unit does not stabilize within 24 hours, then it could possibly have a faulty thermostat or temperature control. I would personally reach out to an experienced tech that will be able to identify the precise reason.
