I've found this on a site. Please post back with results. "Desired RC" is region code. '0' is region free.

1. Power on (with no disc inserted)
2. Press PAUSE
3. Press 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9
4. Enter the desired RC
5. Press PAUSE
6. Turn the player off and wait a few seconds

1. VCD playback
2. Press PAUSE, 1, 4, 7, 2
3. Press UP 6 times, '07 00' should appear on the display
4. Press Program 6, Program 5 ('07 FE' should be displayed)
5. Press ENTER
6. Press RETURN
7. Power off and on again
