Video problems with my westinghouse LTV 32 W 3 HD

The tv worked great for 4 months with no issues. then one day i noticed that after 5 minutes the screen would fill with green pixels.turning the power off and on would work. i did this for months having no time or money to have it repaired.the problem has now gotten worse. Now it has multi colored pixels and the power trix doesnt work.
i bought this tv 11months ago and have been having this issue for 7 months now.

the screen begins to flip, like on the old tvs when the vertical hold was off. - when it first started I would turn it off the back on and it would work fine for about one hour then back to flipping.

This seems to be associated with the overheating of some component. On my set I need to check that the backlight is set to a low level. On reset it automatically adjusts to a level above maximum and the green screen will appear in a few minutes. I took the back off and that helped some.

The skin tones on people's faces are different colors and shadowed and I can't find my owner's manual.

its ok, pause the screen and get a wax crayon the colour that you want the peoples faces to be and colour over them on the screen. when you have fully enjoyed that frame scrub it off and pause the video 1 second later. eventually you will make the whole movie like this the exact colour you want it.................

The internal circuit has an intermittent short and disconnect. Generally this is due to excessive heat or a fractured wire. If it is related to the circuit board, components can migrate; cause a short, and cool down and make contact again. Many issues.
An on again, off again issue at some time will end up with complete loss of activity at some time down the road. If the TV is not too old and you value it dearly, simply have it repair by a service technician. Other than that, with new TVs around $300, don't waste money on old technology.

Vertical colour bars

The problem is in the LCD controller board is overheated because the power supply unit is at the bottomof the TV and the heat rises upward to the vent on the top of the TV. You can verify that is hest problrm by running TV with the back removed and have a small fan blowing on the top secdtion of the TV where the LCD controller is. This how I fixed my scrambled picture after warm up (I added heat sinks to the IC on the LCD controller board) : http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/LTV-32W3HD/
You can try it if the board was not badly damaged already by the heat. My has been running great for over a month now.

If the picture goes bad after about 15~30 minutes, then more likely to be bad LCD controller bd. See sample of the failed LTV-32W3HD here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/LTV-32W3HD/

Parts: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=LTV-32W6HD&limit=200

You can try running the TV with the back open with a small fan blowing in the back to keep it cool just to verify that it is heat related.
