I had the same problem, but was able to just update the driver.
Go to Start --> My Computer --> Right Click --> Manage --> Device Manager --> You should see something with a USB and a question mark. Right click it and say update the driver. Then, it should, update the driver and you will get those unsuitable/not windows approved popups again. I just ignored them and went with it.
Note: I installed the Targus driver information from their website prior to doing the driver update (http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=ACP50US).
