I have a Audiovox d1988 and the screen won't play. I have sound but no picture. Help!!!

try rebooting phone by turning off and then on

1) test the adapter and repair or replace
2) test the power supply inside for open or short from some component, such <.diode, capacitor, resitor.
3) test the batteries and replace if necessary use the same kind all alkaline .

Enter the Menu screen, select, preference, select default, and OK.
If the problem is with password forgot, the default passord of this unit is [ 3308]. Enter this password on the first screen. Sometimes the unit won't accept this passord for the first time to cheat you, enter this pasword again. After that, you can enter your own passord. OK.

Power button or screen turn on , but wow button lights up . Does take cds dwn but wont play them , says no disc

the screen might be going out see if there are any wires touching in side of the screen

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

i request a sollution on how to fix this problem. The screen is blank but you can stilll hear the sound when the movie is playing

Sometimes the displays can't be sent to another tv or monitor. Make sure that isn't turned on. Sometimes there can be a short in the wiring if your unit folds up to play like a notebook computer. You can try moving the screen back and forth and see if the picture changes. If neither of these solutions work, contact audiovox and see if it is cover under warranty.
