I have a problem installing sound driver on ET1850 emachines

Check ALL monitor cables, reseat connections. Have you done any hardware or software updates? Graphics Updates? Do you get anything at boot? Just no signal? It sound like a hardware issue, Graphics. Support for your machine can be found here: http://support.gateway.com/us/en/emac/product/default.aspx?modelId=2064 You could buy a PCI e x16 Graphic Card . Better ,faster Graphics. First, check VGA connections, reseat, check for bent pins. Try another cable and monitor, to verify.

Once you are on this site choose the Operating System (XP,Vista,Win7) and losnd the sound drivers. If you do not see any sound or audio drivers download and install the Chip set drivers.

Always get your drivers from the manufacturer of your Laptop, Notebook or Desktop.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, usually one is able to download if available, by model number, All available Driver downloads as required.

If the driver is not available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are installing.

This is the best way of ensuring up to date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!

There are no XP drivers to be found with Microsoft as XP is no longer supported.

Some manufacturers may have a limited number of Drivers still listed.

goto www.emachines.com, go to support, enter your operating system, and select drivers and find your sound card drivers and download and re install them and re boot and you should have your sound.

Select your emachine type and download the sound driver for it. Install the driver and restart the computer. Check and see if the sound card was properly installed.
