Use Address Book Manager on Windows and make the Migration process of the CSV file to vCard simple. The application allows a simplified interface due to which working it becomes too comfortable even for non-technical users.

All contacts with their properties are securely exported from CSV file to VCF file format. In a few steps, CSV contacts are seamlessly moved into vCard format by the utility. You can browse any size CSV file and export its data file into a VCF file irrespective of its size. This software supports all Windows OS versions.

How do I read a VCF vcard

Microsoft Outlook reads VCF files directly. Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail and other email programs will import a VCF file into the address book. For Thunderbird, if the vCard is an email attachment, just click on the vCard in the preview and add it to the address book. Double-clicking should automatically import the vCard. Any text editor (Notepad, Word) will open the VCF file with the headers visible.

However if the vcf file has multiple contact entries, you would be better off using Outlook or Live Mail to export the entries as .CSV (comma delimited text file) and then importing from that. Alternatively, edit the file with a text editor to add tabs or commas and save the file as a .CSV file. (Use the Open With command in Windows.)

There are VCF viewers available. There is one here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/Other-Office-Tools/VCF-Viewer.shtml . It can't edit or search the file though.

I hope this helps.

Exporting Hotmail ContactsThe first step is to get the information you need out of Hotmail, you can achieve this by doing the following:-
  1. Select Contacts from the Hotmail navigation bar.
  2. Click On Print View.
  3. Highlight the entire contents of the table (including the heading names e.g. Name, E-Mail and Phone as well as all your contacts).
  4. Press Ctrl+C to copy the table.
  5. Create a new spreadsheet document in Excel.
  6. Select Edit and then Paste from the main menu.
  7. Sort the data by the E-Mail column.
  8. For any rows with a blank E-Mail column copy any e-mail address from the Name column to theE-Mail column.
  9. Read this guide from Google on the format of CSV contact files and make any adjustments as may be necaserry.
  10. Select File and then Save As... from the menu.
  11. Make sure you select a format involving "CSV" for saving the file. (GMail can import csv files)
You should now have a csv file containing all your Hotmail contacts ready for importing into GMail.

I can't find My Advanced Mail List and address book for my MAC. please help......

Here is the skinny, if you cannot find the software but still have your mml file all you have to do is download a dos program to convert your file to a csv, comma separated value file. here is the link to the database providers site:
http://vermontdatabase.com/mymail.htm

the program dbport.exe is in the dbport.zip file.
Download it and unzip it in the same folder that has your mml files in it.
Then run the command dbport.exe e oldfilname.mml newfile.csv
Then open the new csv file with excel or a similar database program that will open csv files.
Then copy all the cells that have your addresses.
Paste them into notepad and then you can cut and paste from there. You can import them into outlook as contacts too. This however means you have to set up the importing correctly.

CSV file to AS/400

FTP is "line oriented." It has no concept of 'database record formats.' It transfers strings of characters with essentially no knowledge of 'fields' or 'columns' that make up 'records.' A 'record' to FTP is usually just whatever string of characters that is found between record delimiters.

Trying to FTP into a DB2 externally-described database file requires having strings of characters that are (1) laid out to match the receiving record format and (2) either are already converted to the proper CCSID and transferred as BINARY, or are ASCII characters that would result in conversions to all the right characters and transferred as ASCII.

Regardless of which alternative is chosen for "(2)", the handling of record format positions that would match up with packed-decimal or other non-character type fields would be very tricky.

That's where a somewhat 'standard' file format such as .CSV comes in.

However, you don't transfer the .CSV file directly over the top of the DB2 file. Instead, you transfer the .CSV file into a simple directory on your AS/400 and then use it as the source for a DB2 import function. On your AS/400, the import function is most often the CPYFRMIMPF command.

The import takes the .CSV file and handles all of the mappings for field positions and data types.

As such, the sequence becomes (1) FTP the .CSV file to the AS/400, and (2) run CPYFRMIMPF on the AS/400.

Note that the format of the .CSV file makes a difference. You need to ensure proper CCSID settings, proper quoting where necessary, proper record separators, etc. Make sure that you generate a .CSV that can be converted to the record format of the eventual target database file. Lots of possible details, but _far_ easier than trying to construct a matching DB2 record format on a different platform.
