SOURCE: Technics SU-V98 No Sound

If I understand your posting correctly, the amp works using the Aux In connectors but not using the VCR1 even when VCR1 is selected correct? If that is the case, there is an internal electronic switching IC (TA9263 I think) that may be defective. This is not a complex repair and can be confirmed easily by any shop that does audio repair. They will trace the incoming signal with an oscilloscope to the IC and see nothing come out when VCR1 is selected. The IC costs less than $10.

SOURCE: looking for shorting pins for

You can make it by yourself. All you have to do is to shorten a pair of RCA cord to about 2 inches and then plug them into the
shorting pins hole.

I have a technics SU-V98-KM8 Amplifier that turns on and lights up but does not have any soundd coming out of it. I have checked alll the cables and cords and everything is hooked up the way its supposed...

Your amplifier is turned on and all the indicator lights work and you made it sure that all the cables, and cords are attached to where they are supposed to be connected and yet you don't get any sound coming out when you play a music. Amplifiers have selector knobs for you to set where your source is coming from. Selector knobs can be set to TUNER, DVD, CD, and AUX. The scenario might be like this: your source is coming from a movie being played on your DVD player connected to your amplifier but your knob selector is set to AUX. Try playing a music selection from your CD player attached to your amplifier and set the selector knob to CD. If still there is no sound coming out you need to have it checked by a qualified technician.

Technics su-Z750 Intergrated Amplifier stays in Standby

HI...
This happens when one or more components in the power amplifier section has failed.

The protect circuit keeps large DC voltages off the speakers.

The only thing you can check for before finding a tech is that the speakers are firmly connected at both ends. If they are ok, you need a tech

Technics amplifier su-v98, cuts off at 22-24 desibls

The most common cause of this is defective coupling caps inside. These allow some DC voltage to pass through to the final amp stage. This DDC voltage is detected by the protection circuit and the unit shuts down. This unit will require service. Please note that this should be a simple and inexpensive repair. The cost should be less than $10 for parts.

Technics su-v98. Powers on but no sound can be heard, not even through the headphones jack.

Make sure it is not on mute. Check rear of receiver to make sure AUDIO IN has not become disconnected. Check input selector and verify that it matches the audio source.
