Have you tried printing a test page from the printer (like a setup page WITHOUT using the computer)?

If the test/setup page from the pinter is in color then it is the settings or drivers on your (unnamed) computer.

SOURCE: lexmark x1180

This is what worked (so far) with my Dell1.gif AIO A940 printer1.gif that wouldn't print black ink.

It worked for awhile when I chose photo/glossy paper, but then it quit printing again (see below).

PRINT, PROPERTIES, PAPER SETUP, SPECIALTY PAPER, PHOTO/GLOSSY

I got it to print, again, by putting SEVERAL papers in the feeder (instead of just 1) - there is a sensor that is supposed to automatically detect paper type, and it might not be working right, especially with one or only a couple of sheets.

Lexmark x1180 not printing in colour

if not used for a while the print head would have dried up.
You can try being it back to life by cleangin the heading with some nail varnish remover and cotton bud.
If this doesn’t work you will need to just buy a new cartridge.

I have a Lexmark 1200 printer. Colour promlems

It could be that the cartridge has become dry.
you have to try several head cleans using the printer software and if that doesnt help then the cartridge needs to be replaced.

Mono color

These models use a "3 colour" printing process. In other words, these printers do not contain black ink when the BC-05 colour cartridge is installed. To produce black print, a 3 colour printer mixes an equal amount of the three primary colours. This process is known as "composite" black.

As the ink in the cartridge runs out, one of the three primary colours will run out first, depending on the material that has been printed. After one of the three colours has depleted, this colour will be missing from the mixture required to print black, and the print will change colour. This is the indication that the cartridge needs to be replaced. Usually the remaining colours in the cartridge will run out soon afterwards.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A TEST PRINT OR SCAN TEST WITHOUT THE X1180 BEING CONNECTED TO A PC?

No, if you print or scan, you need always to store the file on a computer, and if you use copy function, you still need the computer, as copy function allowed on this printer is only Colour Copying with PC .

This printer cannot print, scan or copy if it is not connected to a computer.

Hi I have a lexmark x1180 and have just installed new cartridges however when printing text it is printing two of the same very close together (so it looks like double vision) also when trying to print...

It sounds like your cartridges should be alligned. In your Lexmark 1180 Program Group (Start->All Programs->Lexmark 1180) there should be a Lexmark Solution Center or Lexmark Productivity Studio.

If Lexmark Solution Center - go to the maintenance tab and run the alignment process.
If Lexmark Productivity Studio - click on Printer Maintenance and then select Align
