Old Desktop, now 16 years old.
well it is old and needs service as all do that old as in HARDware first.
the PC is 2006 old, a super relic now.
The Cmos battery this old is no good after 7 years. old.
so that be hopeless and makes BIOS go MAD just like you saw.
so replace it. for $1 , lane 15 CR2032 coin cell battery
then do this. 9 steps, next
https://www.pcdied.com/cmos.html#Reset_only.

next is that useless old 16 year old HDD,
we test it next, if bad no OS on earth will load or run there,
Impossible.! (like flat tire on a car same thing)

I use a linux boot dvd to run disktest, Ubuntu v20
more move the relic hdd to 2nd good PC and run this on that.
or just buy a SSD 128gb for $20 and end the HDD pain.....now.

10s seconds at run, and done.

SOURCE: Fails to start - Logo is showing

I experienced the same problem after a week.

The only way to reset the player after freezing was to remove the battery. However starting up again resulted immediately again in freezing of the player (presenting logo, without any further action).

After having removed the battery and not turning the player on again, I inserted the player into the PC USB slot. The PC recognized the player as a memory stick only. (inserting the player in frozen condition did not result in recognition).
Using the right mouse button, I selected windows formatting and formatted the player (select FAT32 file system).
Everything is removed including the drivers for the MP3 player. Now the player is officially downgraded to a memory stick.
The driver for the player was still installed, but it did not recognize any MP3 file, which was actually stored in the memory (visible and playable via windows media player).

I downloaded from www.trekstor.de the driver and tools download and installed it on my PC.(http://www.trekstor.de/en/service/downloads.php?produktgruppe=5&produkt=83&sprache=none)
After installation an option becomes available via the start menu for "firmware update".
Upon selection a toggle for "formatting" is available.
Selection of formatting results in cleaning up the player and reinstallation of the MP3 player software.
The installed firmware version 2.620.573 is degraded to version 2.620.572, but I don't mind, since the sound volume is improved, while the player functions fine.

So therefore I would advice anyone to follow these steps to enjoy the player more ;-)

When you boot your computer, you need to hit the key to get you into the bios setup. F10, F2 or Del keys are the usual ones.

Once into the bios, change the boot order to make the CD drive first, and then you will boot right to the CD.

Note, you will also have to hit a key when it starts to boot, it will say, hit a key to boot from CD.

If you miss the key to get into the bios, you have to start over again. Sometimes you have to hit the enter bios key over and over to get in there.

SOURCE: Not Printing. Reinstalled the software, reset printer to factory

If you are running Leopard, reset the printing system by control-clicking in the list of printers in the Print & Fax preference window. Then reinstall the drivers.
Apple Menu > System Preferences > Print & Fax. Control Click in the left area which shows the list of printers, and choose "reset the printing system"

SOURCE: PXE-E61 Media Test Failure Check Cable on compaq presario 2100

A PXE-61 error message is most likely a faulty hard disk.
Try reseating the hard drive first and if you still get this error message again then you need to replace the hard disk.
To boot up with the CD you maybe able to press the F12 function key when you power up the laptop, this will bring up the a menu option to select an alternate boot device. If this option is not available then go into the BIOS configuration and change the bootup order and make the CD as the first boot device and the hard disk as the second device. You can can it back later.

You can only restore to factory settings if there is a recovery console stored on a hidden partition
(try CTRL+F11) at start-up--otherwise need to reinstall the OS with a disk.

BIOS Lock preventing reload on Tiny PC

For that you need to RESET your bios settings to factory defaults.
Open cpu cabinet cover and pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes then all settings goes to defaults.
You can also reset settings with jumper it is near cmos cell it has 3 pins 1-2-3 put jumper in 2-3 position then power up the computer then all settings defaults.
Then if you want to boot your computer with disk then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del key to enter in bios then go to boot menu and set first boot device as cd/dvd rom then save settings and exit.
Then it boot with your disk. Then follow the procedure on screen then you can reinstall your windows or recover old windows.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

The previous hard driver was bad. I replaced it with a new hard drive. I used the Toshiba default factory setting to reinstall the softeware and now my laptop will not boot up.

Toshiba default factory setting can only restor your software if you have backup copy on New Harddrive.

As your old Harddrive crashed, you have to reinstall Operating system and requie software on new Harddrive.

OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND MESSAGE

HI,
This can be an issue with the hard drive..

Go to bios by tapping F10 while the system boots > go to diagnostics and select hdd self test.

If it given an error "No IDE device found" then try reseating the hard drive. i.e. take it out and put it back in.

Otherwise try changing the boot order by going to advance / system configuration > select boot order > select the hdd and pess F6 till it goes to the top. Press F10 to save and exit.

Hope this helps..

Crashing a compaq nx7010 o n purpose

Hi,

You can directly do this with setup boot diskette (came with your laptop).
There you'll find the option to format and do a clean installation of windows.
For this, you need to configure CD-ROM as your first boot device and follow on-screen instructions after booting.(i am assuming that you've done the formatting and clean setup before)

Thanks.
