no problem stated before "SOMEONE" got hands on it.

first tell what the word RESET means.
PCs have vast things inside that RESET.
of you mean go back to day one with the original new OS like day one new, sure, that is called a factory reset.
or factory OS recovery is the better, way to say this.
PCs come new, (modern) with a hidden recovery partition
that works great of the PC was never attacked with OS upgrades
or new HDD (hard disks drive)

Hi,
Its possible the computer is trying to boot from another device, as the computer starts up hit the F12 key, this should bring up boot options, select HDD if it's in the list.
If not hit F2 as it starts and enter the BIOS, look for the boot option and set the HDD as the first boot device, hit F10, save the changes and exit.
The computer will restart and hopefully boot into the operating system
Please post back if you need anymore assistance.
Regards.

If you don't have documents, pictures,
etc on the hard drive that you need to backup, try running system
recovery by doing the following (not sure if this works on the version
with a solid state drive):
1. Turn on the computer
2. Press and hold Alt + F10
3. Click on Restore System to Factory Default
4. Ensure the netbook is plugged into AC power instead of running off the battery and click OK
* This will return your netbook to the condition it was in from the manufacturer.

Hi
Check underneath and use a small screwdriver to open the small rectangular panel with the image of a stack of CDs near it. This is where the Hard Drive sits.
Check to see if the Hard Drive is properly fitted properly docked into its socket and screwed down or held down properly so it is immobile during use.
If this is not the problem, tap the Fn + the correct function key to enter the Boot Menu at Start Up and use the keyboard arrows to select the Hard Drive boot option.
Make sure there is no CD or DVD in the Optical Drive.
If none of these is the problem then, regrettably, your hard drive may have failed, so remove it and test it in a hard drive dock or an external 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure.
If it has failed you will obviously need a new hard drive, bootable operating system disc, drivers disc and programs and security software to reinstall everything to the new hard drive.
Unfortunately, any data on the old drive will be lost.
It is very unusual for a Hard Drive to fail suddenly without some prior warning or signs of failing (the only realistic way would probably be through a drop, severe knock, serious mains power surge or mains power cut, incorrect shutdown procedure, or sudden disconnection of the power cable during use).
Back up regularly to an external storage device and do not ignore any warning signs. Also plug all computer equipment to the mains via a Surge Protector/Suppressor to prevent damage from power surges or fluctuations.
I hope this helps

Re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.
