Hi. I'm the property manager at a rooming house. The owner uses Sppedqueen coin-op washers. He lets me use the washer for free, but this means waiting from him to come & empty the coin box. On our previous machine, I was able to splice in a momentary push button switch which was discreetly mounted on the back of the machine & worked like a charm for over 2 yrs. Each press of the button made the machine register a quarter being deposited. The old machine was much simpler; the 2 wires were a red/white & a grey/yellow. When I took off the panel on the new machine, I couldn't find the same wires & there were more than on the previous model. The new model is a Speed Queen Quantum Gold; SWNNC2SP115TWO2 Any help in identifying the comparable wires would be greatly appreciated. The owner doesn't mind me getting free laundry, but would DEFINITELY mind if I screw up his new washing machine! He calls me "MacGyver" for the contraptions I rig up, but I think his patience would evaporate if he has to call a repairman, LOL. Thanks guys

Do you know what the amp rating was for the momentary on switch that you originally used?

SOURCE: maytag neptune washer

yes, but 900 is a little high for my area. is it loud in spin now? the seal can be replaced for about 50-80 part labor is 1 to 3 hours. if you just smelled the smoke and it is not loud you are ok for a long time, reduce load size and it will probly be ok for some time

SOURCE: I just bought a house

  1. purchase a coin insert and blank the slot that coins fit in, then the slide will slid in without coins, just acting like a button, if you examine the slide you wil notice that there are plastic inserts in unused coin slots, any maytag commercial dealer has them.
  2. replace coin slide with 'free operation' converter, which is just a button plate that pushes the striker on the timer switch
  3. take top cover off and just push the striker on the timer, (this is NOT) a recommended option, 220v is enough to spoil you whole day)

I am having the exact same problem with this exact same machine I bought 2 weeks ago, from the 1st load on. I've watched the mechanism and see that it's not rotating. Repair guy out once, thinking my tenants aren't pushing the coin slide in hard or fast enough. Have to wait another week for repair guy to come out. Obviously there's an apparent defect in the Plastic Mechanism.

My washer started leaking, we checked all

Three times we have had problems with our drain pump and coins making it through. Once the coins made a hole in the intake hose. The last two times the coins went through the pump and the impact cracked the pump housing causing a flood in our laundry room. The sevrvice man advised there was no solution to the coin problem other than making sure you check your pockets thoroughly.

Maytag MAT12CSDAW

Leep, open the hatch that the timer sits under. You will see the timer and actuator that the coin tray pushes to start the wash cycle. You can rotate this cam clockwise until it gets to it's home position, ususally right around the 12:00 position. Good luck
