"Insert any CD. Open a DOS (Start>Run>CMD-OK) session.
Enter WinMSD at the DOS windows. Check Hardware Resources for possible hardware conflicts. Also, under Components, select CD-ROM, check all details (e.g, media loaded, name, status, driver.

If everything looks kosher, you are likely looking at faulty hardware
> Insert screwdriver & remove PC case, delete cd drive, insert replacement drive, reload PC case. Load CD driver, test CD and move on to the next problem..."

I have emachines el1360-ur30p running windows 7 and doesn't recognize cd/dvd

Hello,

Was it working fine before? If it does, then you would need to update the driver for your DVD.. Or you might have an outdated DVD driver. You can use RadarSync to update it.

My emachines el1360 doesn't recognize cd/dvd

Try going to safe mode. Restart your computer and tap f8. Use the arrow key to highlight safe mode, and once you are inside safe mode. Try running the dvd or insert the sd card. If it runs well, then install RadarSync or any automatic PC updater then update the drivers. You can also manually update them by going to the website of your computer's manufacturer. Look for support and download.

CD/DVD drive not recognizing game

Clean the cd/dvd with a laser lens cleaning kit. If that doesn't fix it then the cd/dvd drive will need to be replaced.

The DVD writer doesn't recognize that there is a

Most DVD drives are also CD drives, and it sounds like the DVD part is broken, you need to replace the DVD drive, this is done simply by buying a new one, I recommend Newegg.com ( if your unsure search exactly what you already have) then opening your case (tower) and just unplugging old one and plugging new one in, it really is very doable for even a novice.

I need a driver for my backpack DVD +- RW model number 224010. Lost my installation CD and now have a new computer that doesn't recognize the drive

If you are using Microsoft, have you tried using the driver search tool? When Windows says it does not recognize a drive via pop up, click it to have the option for windows to search for the drivers online. If that doesn't work, you can manually search for drivers, which can probably be found on Micro Solutions' website. If the PC cannot detect any drive at all, then odds are the installation was incorrectly done.

CD driver do not read any file

Hi there,

Does it recognize any cd you put in the drive or is it only one cd it doesn't recognize?

Please check if the cd drive is recognized by your computer:

Click Start go to My Computer (XP) / Computer (Vista/Win 7)
and check if you can see the drive. (if it's not there you may have to reseat the drive to make sure that the cables connecting it to motherboard are tight)

check the status in the Device Manager:

On your Keyboard press and hold the Windows Key then press the letter R
once the Run box comes up type in devmgmt.msc and the device manager should appear.

On the device manager look for the cd / dvd drive see wether it has an exclamation point a red x mark or a down arrow or it looks normal.

if it has a yellow exclamation point press and hold the windows logo then the letter R again and type regedit:

On regedit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and the delete the upper and lower filters. Close Regedit and restart the computer.

if it has a red x mark right click on the cd drive in the drive in the device manager and the choose uninstall and restart the computer.

If it has a down arrow right click on the drive and click Enable.

If the above steps doesn't work or if it doesn't recognize all types of media you put in it, that might mean that your cd drive is busted and it needs to be replaced.

Hope you find this helpful!

Hi, my problem is that when i insert a cd into the car radio he doesn,t recognized the cd, it doesn,t play off the cd and when i try to take it out it doesn't give it back to my. I have to switch it off...

I recommend that you take it in to have a very good service. You might also find that your laser lens is weak due to use. It may need to be replaced.

My technics sl-p770 doesn?t recognize the loaded CD.A cd is alway spin but not any track in audio cd.

Try cleaning the lens with a cd/dvd lens cleaner disc. Another thing of note....some cd players simply will not recognize homemade cds, or dics that are not audio discs, or if they were made on a computer.
