A little more context would have helped, but I strongly suspect that it is referring to Over Current Protection. That is to say, your inverter has built-in circuitry that will shut it down if you try to draw too much power from it. Think of it like the fuse or circuit breaker on your home wiring.

The OCP for most inverters is re-settable - either automatically (that is, a few seconds after you remove the overload, it starts working again) or manual (a button to press, or you turn the inverter off and back on).

SOURCE: How many watts does it take to run a GE 5cf

Your 3000 watts should be enough. An average freezer will need 800 or 900 watts.

SOURCE: can't get my 84-2056-01 to work the inverter

This is over a year old, so presumably you solved your problem, but for reference for anyone else reading, the only connection between the inverter/charger and the remote panel is the RJ-11 phone type jack through which the remote panel also draws its power. Just make sure it is firmly seated (until it clicks) on both ends and that the wire is not crimped, cut, or chaffed in between. Otherwise, likely a defective remote panel.

your refrigerator has a rated amperage that you need to check, the formula for wattage is volts(120)x amps(15)=watts(1800), your inverter must be rated for continuous duty

I have a 1000w eliminator inverter and its only putting out 100w. what do you think?

Hi....if you should be needing a 3000W inverter. No way you should use a 3000 watt inverter. Using an oversized inverter will needlessly draw power from the battery. Be aware that 100 watts of power used is 1 amp of battery power used. You have not said what size battery you have but most likely I am going to guess either a group 24 or 27, which means you only have 40-45 amps of battery power that you can use before you start damaging your battery.

My 3000 watt aims inverter/30amp charger seems to work but the charger will not charge/transfer when I turn on the generator. Charging indicator will not come on. It does transfer the generator power

dear see that :
1- the range of voltage which inverter work between it for example 180-260 v
2- most small generator voltage reach more than 260V so the inveter not work
3-check the frequency of genaratoer if it not fix the inverter will mot work

What does ocp mean on the 3000 motomaster power inverter

Unit is overheating.
1. Check fans are running. and unit is in a cool place where air can flow freely.
2. If fans not working try using an external fan to see if the OCP error goes way.

Reduce the load on the outlets (Disconnect some stuff i possible)

Cobra 1500w inverter runs for 4 min. and then shuts off with the code OPC.

Hi
Is the code OCP?
If it is not the code appearing in the display, then it is not a user code but O does refer to an over tollerance situation and L refers to an under tollerance situation can you clarify?

My 3000 watt Duracell inverter will not start a 1 1/2 hp electric motor. The voltage drops to 45v and the electric motor struggles to reach full rpm. This is a table saw with no load. The generator revs...

have the saw motor checked for internal and wiring problems
check the start/run capacitor of the electric motor
running a 1 1/2 hp motor (1075 watts) on a generator that has a running wattage of around 2250 watts means that it should start and come to speed immediately if the motor is good
the problem indicates that there is a circuit problem in the saw motor that is exceeding the available wattage (3000 watts ) on start up

Homlite genorator surging when running 3000 watt unit

Is it a 3000 watt generator? Is it a generator running a 3000 watt appliance? Be more specific. What generator? What is it running?

First, make sure you fuel is fresh. Clean the carburetor thoroughly, that means take it off the generator, take it apart and clean all the little orifices, channels and jets of all the gunk a carb gets in it from sitting, bad gas and just because it is there. Reassemble and test it on the generator with fresh fuel.

I need to install my inverter 18 feet from my battery

a very thick one,,,like a baby battery lead on your car,,,its a very bad idear to have it so far away from the battery point, you would be far better off finding a closer place to put it as the volts drop off would have a big drop in out put on the inverter,,,also thats one big mother of a fridge to use 3000 watts????
you need a small power station to run it,,and if it do use 3000 watts your inverter is far to small to do the job, read the out put plate on the inverter,,it says 3000 watts max? not all the time,,,,thats about 2000 watts realy running contently and the whire to feed the inverter will need to carry about 30 amps so your car battery is say 90 amp hours plus the volts drop off, you would be lucky to have the inverter running for 3-4 hours before your battery go's is very flat on you!

I have a vector 3000 watt inveter red fault light is on, wont power a 6.5 amp fuel pump

Check that ground is correctly connected. If nuetral is provided, ensure it too is connected. Your total load is 780 watts. Check power in and ground out of the supply side. There may be a fuse in the inverter on the output side also, replace if necessary. If fault light does not go out after these checks, you will need to contact Black and Decker who manufactures the vector series now.
