I have a e342xn all-in-one printer but i don't have the software to print directly from any application. Is it on my lexmark installaion cd or there is none available

Lexmark introduces the LexPrint Mobile Print Applictation so you can print from Apple devices such as iPad, iPhone and iPod touch using any Lexmark printer connected to the same wireless network. To learn more about this software, please visit the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/aLH40U).
Also, Lexmark recently released the Lexmark Mobile Printing Application for use with Android devices, however, the application is supported only on most laser products and the very latest inkjets that are coming out for 2011(the Lexmark Pro715 and the Pro915 are the only models announced at this point.).
For other cellphone models that does not support Apple IOS or Android, these will not be applicable to your printer.

Any drivers you need can be found on the lexmark website. Note that some printers need the software installed before hooking up the printer. I'd try to install the printer first. The software will tell you if the printer needs to be connected.

Try to download the software online at www.lexmark.com. Just click on the link to take you directly to the download page: Lexmark Z705

FYI: that printer is not compatible with Windows Vista or 7. For Mac, it's only compatible up to OS 10.4.x.

You can actually scan directly to an application(ex. MS Word application). Also, make sure the Lexmark OCR scan software is installed on your computer (the software is available on the install disc that came with your printer).
1. Load an original document into the ADF or on the scanner glass. 2. Press Scan Mode. 3. Press ? or ? repeatedly until the MS Word application is highlighted. 4. Press check button. 5. Press Start Color or Start Black to start scanning.

Lexmark 6500 Series (WiFi) Mac Driver can be located and installed as a previously set up printer if you used it with another computer or OS:

Driver Download from web, same as a CD: 6500 Series Web Installer.dmg
I hope this will solve the problem. If you have a problem go to the Applications folder/ Lexmark for the wireless set up. You will need the printers print cable, USBed to your computer and follow the directions. Good luck.

Yes please visit lexmark.com and goto support section and download the up-to-date software for your make and model and just install it. After that and rebooting your pc you should be fine unless your printer itself has an issue.

Because they can't talk directly to each other. Kind of like the scanner is speaking in German and the printer is Spanish....The application used for the scanner is bilingual, therefore the printer can understand what it is supposed to print.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
