Trace the wires from the power supply to the points where they connect on the board and the feed to any components. As you do this look for loose connections or cables that are not properly seated. To be safe, in plug the wire or cable contact and plug it right back in, making it is firmly connected.
I have fixed several issues with the VAIO doing just this when support had no answer.
Should you see and wire that has been pinched or crimped it may need replacing.

SOURCE: i have intel board DG41RQ

In my opinion Motherboard issue, but I can't assure, it could also be the Power supply, as bad power supply could cause the motherboard mal-function and is causing the hard drive failure. If the motherboard is under warranty, you better get a replacement than wasting another Hard drive, and I hope it's better for you to replace the power supply as well, you'll spend less buying a 450watt power supply than buying a new 500gb hard disk.

Also make sure the cabinet is properly fitted and the ground is working without any problem, you can check this by using a tester (screw driver tester) after it's connected to the mains, or you can try with your hand (it'll not kill you :-], but I don't recommend if you have a screwdriver with tester).

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Volume knob of sony icf- sw 7600gr radio stuck on high volume. Cant be reduced

Recently I found a Sony ICF 7600GR with same issue.... Radio runs full volume.. can't be controlled... Found a SMD package capacitor C252 ,1uf was short.. 1.2Volt was missing on pin number 14 of IC 203

Check these voltages of IC 203 ( CXA1522P)
Pin -15 Voltage is 1.3V
Pin -14 voltage is 1.2V then" No/low Volume".
Pin -14 voltage is below 0.5 then "Full Volume ".

By varying volume control (RV204 , 50K) , Pin number 14 of IC 203 must vary between 0.3V to 1.2V.

Recently, the volume of my keyboard dropped significantly, and now when I play there is an annoying tremelo that makes it difficult to play. The problem persisted when I connected it to an amp, so I know...

Here is a parts and assembly service manual...

http://elektrotanya.com/yamaha_ydp-223_223c_parts.pdf/download.html

The schematic will be nearly identical to the 151 model with schematic included in this one:

First thing to verify is the power supply voltages and that they are clean using an oscilloscope. Check that cables are all seated. There is NOT too much more that one can DIY beyond this. verify the problem also exists in headphones.

I have a SONY amplifier, TA-F410R. When I turn it on I hear nothing. Only after I boost te volume (generally per speaker) does the amplifier burst open. If I choose not to pump up the volume, I can also...

My 1st thought would be the main power supply capacitors.
If they are dried out or "leaky" they WILL take a long time b4 the power supply gets up to where it will run the amp
Get the main capacitors replaced

W902 Sony Ericsson. My Walkman button and my volume up wont work properly.. i'we already opened up the phone and cant seem to find any damage or visible faulties on the buttons. They seem unharmed and they...

Seems like a known issue with the W902. Same here, dropped my w902 a few months back and the Walkman button and Volume up keys not workin now.

Walkman button not really an issue as you still can navigate to it via the menu system but no volume UP key is annoying. You can't increase volume especially when you volume it down. Power the w902 down and up, will reset volume to 6/10.

Solution: I came across a site where you can change volume without the volume up key.

1. Ensure you lock the phone (* and Contact key)

2. While holding down the disconnect button (the one that you switch the phone off) and camera button (on the right side, bottom button), pressing 7 will decrease volume while * key will increase volume.

You need to hold both button for 7 and * to work. Works great for me as I dont have to replace my phone, hope this help.
