Teac HDR9650TS DV Recorder does not power up, only displays "boot" what action do I take ?

I have 2 of these units & both ended up having the same issue. In both cases it was the same capacitor on one of the boards. Look for a bulging end on the capacitors - that will indicate they are stuffed. I just desoldered the capacitor from the board, checked the number on the side of the capacitor & went to EBay. I bought 20 capacitors on Ebay for $5.00.
    Cheap Fix.

Hi John, for what your Teac says, you are not completing the start sequence, I suggest you disconnect the Teac, for more than half an hour and after that time connect it and see if it turns on
another possibility is that you need a Firmware update
The Firmware can be updated through the USB port. Once you have downloaded the firmware
from www.teac.com.au, place it on a USB stick. Please make sure that the USB memory does not have
other files stored on it other than the required software file
With the Teac HDR9650TS DV Recorder, unplugged, place the USB memory into the USB connector, then turn on the computer and wait for the power-up sequence to complete
I send you the link to download the service manual
I hope he manages to solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

Saludos Franco Dosil

Have a teac DV-R250HD recorder. How can I recover the audio file when the machine can't turn on?

Remove the hdd and fit it to another TEAC. A PC will not read the files unless the format is correct.

I need help with using my TEAC DV-200 speakers as an external audio source for my smart tv using the digital optical cable connection.

Are you using just the speakers (designated DV-200) or the full
Teac DV-C200 DVD Audio/Video Micro System?

You would need the digital optical cable out from the television to a digital optical cable input on the DV-C200 system. Digital is not like a normal signal in the way that analogue AM radio and FM digital radio differ. In fact it is more like DAB radio.

The best thing to do it Google the manual for the television and the speaker system and read the input and output specs.

My teac dvd/cd player wont play some cds

Probably a codec problem on the notebook. rather than a drive problem. Try a 3rd party media player such as Real Player or Quicktime

Teac dvd recorder

In the control panel, go into "power options", there make sure the settings make sense(that there's no setting that shuts off the hard drive or hybernates the PC after a while its apparently not used). Failing electrolytic capacitors on the motherboard or a failing power supply sound like a potential avenue of investigation to me. You may be able to detect bad caps with no more than a visual inspection for bulges and/or leaking electrolyte. Try borrowing a power supply and see if it solves it. Does this happen with more then one DVD playing software? Hope you sort it out
