The parts diagrams online show some little parts in the drive train, thrust washers and idler/drivers. Are all those parts accounted for and in place? Is the polarity on the motor turning it the proper direction? Hope you can run it with a cover open to see what is happening or not happening. Can you turn the paddles by hand and the motor turns with it?

SOURCE: washer won't spin but motor runs and belt is not broken
The motor bracket is broke, which allows the motor to "jump" causing the belt to come off.

you'll need to pull the starter. It sound like your Bendick's is bad. that's the upper gear drive assay. the only other res ion would be, low power to the starter, and not receiving an acquit amount of amp to reach the rpm's it needs. good luck

I have the Toro 51591 model. Yesterday, mine did the same as yours. I opened up the case and found that a small cylinder had broken off of the switch. So it could be that your switch is the problem. I have been unable so far to find a replacement anywhere.
You should consider using your warranty.
Testimonial: "Thanks. I checked the manual first though and read that the impeller cover if not properly closed will not allow it to turn on. That worked. Thanks"

Hi, you access the belt from the front. I can't bring up the model number you gave but I'll assume some things. A panel may be below the door, if so look for 2 latches holding it shut, a flat head screwdriver gently inserted will release the latches. If you have a solid front panel except for the door... If your lint filter is on the top, remove the filter, remove 2 screws under the filter door, lift the top and tilt it back. Now you can see 2 hex screws, one on the right top corner and the other on the left, remove, unplug the door switch wires and lift the whole front panel off. If your lint filter is inside the door, skip the 2 screw part and pop the top panel off.
