SHU3006UC Bosch Dishwasher. Control Knob wont advance past 5 o'clock, water is cold, not warm or hot.

19 year old Bosch Dishwasher, no warm/hot water going though cycle. Control knob manually advanced past 5 o'clock (wash), since it will stay there and not advance. Is it most likely the thermostat, heater assembly or something else? Please advise.

I find it unusual for water to be cold since it should only be hooked up to a hot water source. Start your dishwasher by running the cold water out of the kitchen faucet first then turn on the dishwasher so it draws in hot water from the start. The same way you take a shower.

The 5 o’clock timer can be changed. First select a different wash program by using the buttons. Now turn the knob until it corresponds to the new cycle.

It is most likely that it is failing due to old age and needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: Kenmore 80 Series Won't advance to spin

You will need to replace the timer. Let me explain why;
After the agitation cycle, the machine will enter a drain mode where the basket will not spin, only drain. After some time, the timer should 'pause' causing the machine to engage the spin clutch. The timer contact has become stuck, not allowing the pause, thus never entering engaging the spin clutch.

SOURCE: Frigidaire top load washer won't rinse

this can be two issues. One could be the control knob. there could be a malfunction here. secondly, you may have a faulty water valve assembly. the relay or solenoid may need to be replaced. i would start with the control knob.

You gotta pull out a rod behind the timer and that releases the knob.351bd46.jpg The rod when pushed into the timer spreads the shaft and holds it on there. To get to the innards you gotta flip up the controls. I have a cool video that shows how

Have an old Bosch Clasixx 1200 washing machine that has been a great workhorse for many years. However, lately the laundry is cold when the cycle finishes. Is there a part that I needs replacing?

First check the if there's a debris screen on the got water inlet, as it may be plugged. Make sure the hot water volume is good. With hot water hose disconnected at the washer, put end of hose in bucket and turn on hot water. You should get 20L (5Gal) a minute minimum. If water volume is good and screens are not plugged, then likely the hot water inlet valve has seized. Could be both hot/cold valves are integrated so both get changed. Not a bad idea to just do them both if separate hot/cold valve.
If you know how to use a volt meter you could check power at the hot valve to make sure its not a control issue or swap the control wires and select a warm temp cycle. If you get cold water then its not a control issue.(dont forget to put wires back)

Washer just hums water will not fill breakers are fine water taps are on water works in house wont work in any of the other cycles

Assuming u r doing a warm wash where both cold and hot water should be coming in, it would be odd for both fill valves to go bad at same time. So I would guess it's the timer or control board clock not working. U did not give washer info, so not sure what u have. Timer is simple and inexpensive. Control board expensive, but still easy. If u have a knob that u turn for setting cycles then u have a clock type timer. Good luck.

Warm water only

You can eliminate the shower control knob possibility by turning on your hot water anywhere else in the house. If you get hot water in other places, then it could be the knob causing it. A substantial lime buildup in the tank can also cause poor heat transfer from the elements to the water.

My Bosch SHX46A06UC just runs and runs and wont stop.

The control board is not turning on the water heater due to bad control board, heater or limiting fuse.

No hot water

If the pilot light stays on, the thermocouple and pilot flame are good. If you turn the control to "on" and turn up the thermostatic control knob to call for heating and get nothing else then the control (gas valve, thermostatic control) is bad. The control can be replaced - they are mostly generic except for gas type - but they are not cheap and if the control is bad the tank is probably not far behind (changing the control could cause it to leak). Unless the water heater is less than 3-5 years old, replace the whole thing!

BOSCH DISHWASHER RUNNING TOO LONG PROBLEM

Bosch dishwashers are designed to heat the water to temp. However it has a 3 hr default if it doesn't reach temp. Start the cycle and see if after 1 hour if the water is hot or cold. If hot, then it is heating the water and the water coming in is just too cold. You may try running the water at the sink to get it hot there first before starting the dw. If the water is cold, then your unit isn't heating the water. At this point I pull the outer door panel, find the largest wires on the control unit and put my meter leads on them then start the machine. You will see 120 volts on your meter. Start the machine in light washes and with in 10 to 15 minutes you should see 0 voltage. Than means the relay has closed in the control and the hot line of the 120 volts is being sent to the heater. If this never happens, then you have a bad control. Bosch dishwashers have a 5 yr part warranty on the electronic control. Now If you get the 0 volts, I will put my amp meter on one of the same wires and check for 9 to 11amps. If that isn't there, then you have a bad heater assy. Hope this helps
