Nortel T7316E office phone is too loud. Not ringer but handset. The volume never saves. Do I have to turn it down every time?

  • Christoph Pozdena Feb 01, 2019

There is a setting in system administration to save the handset volume. If this is not set, the handset volume resets after every call.

How do I turn the volume of the ringer off on Nortel T7316E. I don't want it on 'do not disturb' as I need to take calls/allow them to go to voicemail, but don't want to hear the ring.

Two different options,... Call the extension, and while it is ringing, press the volume down bar until you can no longer hear it ringing. You can also try this... Leaving the handset down, do Feature * 80, adjust the loudness for ringer volume by pressing the volume bar.

Have you tried to call the phone and adjust the volume on the set while the call is coming in? I think the only way you can adjust the ringer volume is if the phone is ringing.

I'm trying to disable paging on my T7316E phone. Paging is EXTREMELY loud and bothersome. There should be a function key sequence that disalbes it.

You can disable paging through system programming but it might be easier to turn down the volume by pushing the volume down arrow when a page is being announced.

Handset will not work

Try swapping the handset and cord with a working phone. Those handsets are known to loose the transmitters. As for the ringing, have someone make an intercom call to your extenxsion. Do not answer the call...while the light is flashing press the volume up button several times. www.dyna-tech.us
