Your motor has a couple of screws to hold the tension on the belt. Loosen them and pull the belt off and then remove the belt off of the hand wheel. Put the new one on. While you are moving the motor to adjust tension on the belt you should have the motor running so that you can adjust where the motor has the least resistance.

Make sure no thread is caught in shuttle, or around bobbin case, etc. Check "plate teeth" also. Manually turn handle/wheel to engage and slow press pedal.
Is there a burning smell of rubber? Bad motor. Check warranty.
