I have been using Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio for several years. Starting today when I save a file in defaults to a mono track with a much thinner sound than I've been getting in the past. Is there a preference setting that I'm missing? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled and have the same problem. Any solutions?
Uninstalling doesn't necessarily reset the profile settings. There are a few things to try. Ask Sony tech support and they will definately have the answer. Formatting your hard drive and reinstalling windows will definitely nerf the old settings. You can try revo uninstaller which does more software removal for a program than the uninstaller included does. You can also try to add a new user account in windows and that might change the saved settings.

Unfortunately without "surround" processing, the center speaker will not work at all. It sounds like there is a problem with the center channel amp which is part of the receiver. This should be a single amp IC attached to the heatsink. There should be a "test" moe that will send white noise to each speaker in sequence. Try that. If that results in no sound to the center, it pretty much concludes that the center amp needs to be repaired. The part cost for this should be around $25.

Google for Revio uninstaller and run that.
It has a few modes so you can get more savage as you need to.
NOTE: Create a Restore Point first just in case.
