AS far as I know you cannot put a black cartridge in the place of a colour cartridge it has to be a colour one. Check your printer properties to see if you can set your printer to work in black only, if you can then set it to black but leave the empty colour cartridge in place. This works for my 1800. Give it a try.

My printer canon ip1300 dont print black color, only color is working, even the black cartridge is installed, it doesnt print black

Hi,

The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.

Can I print with one cartridge at canon pixma ip1300 with out replacing or installing other cartridge.

Absolutely, the only thing you need to do is to configure your setting to the right appropriate ink, say for example you ran out of black ink you can go to printing properties and select to be printed in blue, in this case the color match will use magenta and cyan to create blue.
1 select your default printer 2 select printing preference from your printer from there you can change the color of your desired print 3 you can select print in color for example or grayscale 4 then print your document.

Check color ink always blinks and does not allow to do any job.

Make sure that you installed the correct ink. It is not enough for it to fit, the numbers on the cartridge have to match those on the cartridges you replaced. You may also have problems with off brand ink that claims to work. Use Kodak ink. Also, many of the Kodak have the ink jet nozzle on the printer, not the cartridge. You can try cleaning in and around the cartridge casing, especially on the copper areas, with an alcohol swab. Then run the cleaning utility on the printer 2 or 3 times.

I have a epson stylus printer C65 series. I ran out of black ink so i changed the ink cartridge and it will only print colour not black now.

I have an Epson stylus 6000 series, second hand but was working just fine. I changed the ink cartridges and now the color won't print. Utilities shows all cartridges full, but only black and pale green-blue print. While it was printing color it was drinking the ink, but that's another story.

Printing in black & white when color cartridge ran out

I had the same problem. Had no choice but to buy the colors I ran out to make the printer work. In order to avoid future problems and save on color inked I attempted to follow the steps of a previous posting, however, that did not work for me. This is what I had did. Print, select properties, advance, continue, check box - Black ink only. Remember when you decide to print in color you must reset your setting and take out the check from the - Black ink only.
