Tv screen keep going black,

I have three diffrent problems with my Sharp Aquos,
1. While playing Xbox 360 or watching Sky the screen will go black for a couple of seconds and then come back.

2. While playing Xbox 360 the screen will go black and then it will change its self to Sky (ext2).

3. When watching tv or playing games a blue box will appear in top right corner of the screen with input information.

If anyone knows how too fix any of these problems please help :)

Sharp LC-46SB54U Looks like something hit the screen (not cracked) but it looks like a cracked window with a few color bars streaming out from the impact point...Any thoughts about how to try to work...

has anyone had this problem? I was watching my sharp Aquos tv and all of a sudden I see a black line, then fuzzzy then black screen then a loud pop, now it looks like colors that sprawl out as if something exploded in one spot inside the screen and it looks like the inside screen is cracked. but nothing hit the tv. it just happend. the sharp people tell me that it cant be fixed or replaced. and they keep telling me i hit the tv! From 5 feet back??? I was watching it. he says..did you see anything strike the tv?? I was like, I am going to ignore that rediculous question because I was on my couch..and no one was in the room! he says the only way that happens is if someone hit it! OMG! i have only had this tv for 3 months and paid $2000 for it. why would I HIT my TV!! no one will help me. I have a master plan warranty on it aswell. they wont help me.

Aquos screen blacks out with xbox 360 using Component Cables

Downloaded the updated firmware from the sharp website to a usb drive. Placed the drive in the TV and went to the update software option on the TV menu. Since the update, I no longer get the black-outs on the screen. I also put the resolution on the 360 back up to 1080p and it works great, even through the component cables.

Plays dvds on xbox 360 fine, but no picture for games/dashboard

already solved it. thanks. i couldn't see the xbox settings blade because of the blank screen so switched my component cable to the tv setting instead of the hdtv setting, then i could see the dashboard in non-hd and switched the resolution to 720p while simultaneously switching the component cable back to the hdtv setting. that worked.

While playing xbox 360 in 1080p mod, the screen frequently blanks

Most TV's have problems doing 1080p over component. Dial the Xbox back to 1080i. Make sure the big switch on the Xbox AV cable is set to 'HDTV' not 'TV'(common problem) If the problem persists, try plugging into different hookups, use HDMI (if your console supports it) or buy one of the HDMI adaptors from PDP or MadCatz if your console doesnt. HDMI will reduce the clutter and will make 1080p a reality.

Screen randomly flashes black

First and foremost you need to change one of two things. Either your video output settings on your xbox 360, or use an hdmi cable as opposed to component cables. Component cables are only designed to output video up to 1080i, not 1080p(big difference). So if you try to run a output signal of 1080p with cables only made to send 1080i, you will have picture issues.

Sharp Aquos 32

Sounds like one of three things:

1) Mainboard/Tuner problems - although I'm really only saying this because you guys seem to think its associated with your over the air channels.
<br>
2) Power board problems. You power board/inverter may be damaged in some way - blown capacitor or other malfunctions. This is very possible as this could result in the backlight turning off and the screen going black but keeping the keeping the sound. If this is the problem, it will at some time start to happen constantly. Have a pro open it up and look at the power board.

3) The backlight is defective/dying. The backlight is a set of lights that reflects through the LCD panel. If the screen looks black, but you might see a faint picture or you still hear sound, then the backlight is not on. The panel itself could be defective. You can fix it by replacing the whole LCD panel (expensive), replacing the backlight panel itself (need a busted LCD of the same size with a working backlight), or fix the backlight, which is tough and risky.

Most likely its either the power board or backlight. Either way, you need someone to open up the TV and take a look inside. Good luck! Hope it works out.

Screen Goes Blank for about 5 seconds

A friend and I both have the LC-32D64U Aquos sets with the same problem. Black screen for a few seconds with no video or sound. They came with firmware version S0804171.

Installing (reverting?) to firmware S0801101 on Sharp's website resolved these issues. Perhaps you need to update/switch firmware versions, especially if hardware replacement did not resolve the issue.
