Check status monitor see if cartridges are low or nearly empty , if new or full take out all cartridges and soak nozzles upright in cleaning solution overnight , or untill ink starts to bleed out:

Dab dry and re - fit , make up a A4 paper page with 6 colour bands about 1" high x 8" wide and print about 4 to 6 pages ,
check which colours are poor , if improvement is observed run
again a few times:

If one colour is poor take out that cartridge and soak again for a few hours , try again:

If no improvement replace with new cartridge or use a cleaning cartridge ( available on-line ) :

Using the head-cleaning utility shortens the life of the printer as the printer is set to lock-out after a pre-set use of the cleaning facility: and will have to be re-set instore:

clogged nozzle, run the clean head then test page in this order at least 5 times in a row, you should see an improvement on each test page, sometimes you need to keep doing this clean/print until the nozzle becomes unclogged, if you don't see a difference in the 5-10 clean/test page then you need a new head

hope this helps

SOURCE: printer prints white thick blank lines

1- black lines are from the drum: it has burnt out on that particular spot and rotates

2- the white horizontal gap space if it is not you skipping space is also from the drum

3-the white Vertical is most likely from the developper (unit that has the toner and is against the drum, look at the roller it should be solid black, maybe there is something on it : hair paper etc....

Black lines print on black and white printing

Sounds as if the drum needs to be replaced if it does this on copies and prints.
If it just happens on copy when using the document feeder then try cleaning the narrow piece of glass that is located just to the left of the large piece of glass.

Black line through the middle of the document

The thick line is either because of dust sticking to the glass or a module problem. Try different brightness settings and scan white paper. If the thickness varies and also the sides of the black strip are jaggered (step like) then it is dust on Glass. use isopropyl alcohol to clean, dont use solvents. If the teickness is same for all levels of brightness and has a sharp edge always, it could be scan module problem.

Print result with 3mm white line every 3cm row

Unfortunate, the cable catched in the printer affected the printhead part where black ink is coming out. Maybe some plastic got on the nozzles (from the cable), if you have some technical skills you can dismount the printhead (where the cartridges are put in) and check the downside of it, where the nozzles are, clean them with warm water and a soft tissue. Not with paper tissue.

If that doesn't help, it means that soft plastic-parts are clogging the nozzles, it could be fixed with steam blowed under pressure trough the nozzles, but it requires special equipment you probabily dont have. A printer service in your area could have such equipment, try and clean the printhead with their help.

This is valable if the nozzles arent damaged (scratched), if this is the case then Canon gotcha, because a printhead is very expensive, kind of the price of a whole new printer.
