When I'm not on a call I like being able to press a line that is in use to see which staff member is using that line, allowing me to know whether someone is available or on their phone. Unfortunately, this button press produces the loudest, most annoying dual tone beep. Any way to mute this sound without muting the ringer as well? Thanks!

I have the same issue with Uniden cordless DCX640 - the phone was working fine but it seems to be on mute

Welcome to Panasonic :-)
The mute button works when you have a speakerphone call. That means SP-PHONE pressed and press MUTE and it flashes to let you know it's on mute.
Maybe software version 9.0 will fix the mute to work on handset calls.....

On my 9417cw this happened from time to time and I found a very simple solution. Disconnect the power supply for a few seconds and plug it back in....voila!

Is there an 'M' on the display? If so, that means it is in 'meeting mode.' All you have to do is press and hold the star key (*) and that will take care of it.
