SOURCE: my fs 45 whipper snipper is starting but running

I have a Stihl FS 45 and have had problems with it running for a short time then cutting out. The problem is like to be either- the filter attached to end end of the fuel pick hose that goes down into the fuel tank is blocked or- there is a crackor split in the corrugated section of the fuel pick up hose between the fuel tank and the carburettor. If such a crack or split exists it will cause air to be sucked in with the fuel upsetting the fuel/air ratio. A new hose not adjustment is the only cure

SOURCE: stihl fs 45 ignition problem no spark

Disconnect the small spade terminal wires from the coil itself and test for spark. If you do not have spark replace coil. If you do have spark check those small wires for insulation damage and grounding. If wires are OK check kill switch.
NOTE: DO NOT START MACHINE with small wires unplugged! Only test for spark.

SOURCE: How to get the head

There is a hole beside the angle gearbox, stick an awl or small screwdriver into it & turn the head until it 'locks'. Then rotate the head clockwise until it comes off.
