When you ring the land line from my mobile you can't hear anything but clicking when you pick up the receiver. Batteries have been fully charged for over 24 hrs now system has been reset hand set registered etc , followed everything in the manual but still can't ring out or accept calls
That would be first choice, do you have dial tone at that plug? With the same line cord?
Testimonial: "Weirdly no, I have three socket linked so I went to the socket second in line and tried the phone still doesn't work. The first in line is in the main bedroom a bit unaccessible so I will have to move a load of stuff to get to it. What I don't understand though is if its the socket how does the phone ring when you ring it from a mobile but you can't answer it. How can that happen if the socket is not working ?"
Could be line cord connection at base or other wiring issue. Do you have a different phone(s) at same location that work?
If you have a known good phone, the simpler the better, unplug all other tele devices at your location and verify the know good phone works?
Testimonial: "I have tried an old phone , in the socket but it didn't work so tried it in a second socket which didn't work either. The weird thing is when you ring the home line it does ring but you can't answer it so some sort of signal must be getting through"

Your caller id log is full, you can fix your phone by pressing the Calls button, then the delete button over and over until it is empty. This will fix your problem without deleting all your programming.
SOURCE: telephone connection problem with DSL
unplug everthing from all jacks in the house. call your # a couple of times. if the line rings, plug everything in 1 at a time, but call again after each hook up. if the line goes dead or is busy, that phone you just plugged in is the problem. [ a short in the phone, computer, answer machine, or any piece of equipment plugged into the phone line.] if the line is busy when everything is unplugged, call your phone company. there maybe a problem with your inside wire.there also maybe a box [called a nid] inside your basment/garage or on the side of your house, where you can plug your phone directly in, bypassing all the jacks in your house
hope this helps.

SOURCE: Registering phones
I have after many hours found the solution. (Well one that worked for me). I have a Uniden Elite 8855 + 8805 additional handsets. What you have to do is:
1. Go to your base unit.
2. Put your flip phone in the cradle.
3. Press down and hold down (AT ALL TIMES) the end (find hs) button.
4. Whilst holding down this button, take the power plug out of the wall.
5. Whilst still holding down the end (find hs) button, plug the power back in.
6. When you hear a beep from the base unit system.
7. Let go of the end (find hs) button.
8. Your phone memory should be cleared now and you are ready to repeat the process of registering your base and additional handsets.
SOURCE: Missing calls
Hi,
I had this problem once and on my phone I would get one ring and then it would stop. Checking the phone I saw I missed a call. I live in the mountains of Puerto Rico and I believe what is happen is the network plays the rings for the caller but the phone isn't doesn't get the signal or start ringing until 3 or 4 rings later. In other words the caller has already heard 4 or 5 rings and has given up. While you have heard only one ring and when you got to the phone you already missed the call. I told my friends to let it rings more then 5 times before giving up and that worked.
SOURCE: Not Registered Problem
This worked for the 7100, hopefully it works for other models:
When the handset says "not registered", it should still have a "menu" option. Select that, then the only choice is "register", select Ok. Now it says "searching for base", press and *hold down* the "locate handset" button on the base until the handset beeps and wakes up. Docs say this could take up to 30 seconds (it was about 17 for mine).
