BEEN HAVING OURS FOR ABOUT AN MONTH AND CANNOT DOWNLOAD MUSIC

  • bill1979 Dec 25, 2007

Cannot sync in Windows XP with Media Player 10 in MTP mode, nor will it work in windows 98 in USB mode. Both give errors. This propietary software most manufacturers put on their devices are why I hesitated about purchasing this. I have been burned in the past and GPX just got on my list of devices NOT to buy any longer. I will be returning this for a refund, NOT an exchange.

When are manufacuters going to start testing their devices to see that they actually work???

I have to admit, I got a little nervous at first....... I too bought my on sale at Walgreens. :)
Anyway, your computer needs to recognize you MP3 player. First, make sure the small sliding button on the leff side is set to the OFF possition (down). Than switch the MP3 to the MTP mode by pressing the top button on the right (you'll see the mode change on the screen). When both of those things are in place, unplug the player, and plug it back in. I have Windows XP, and media player 10 (which is required for this method to work).

After READING DIRECTIONS and a little patience, I'm loading it with music as we speak. :) I'm actually looking forward to work tomorrow...........

I hope this helps.

When I go to sync music from Windows Media Player, it says "It is not possible to change sync settings at this time. Try again later." What can i do to get it to work?

If you normally create a profile for your GPX on your desktop computer. Delete that profile, and then add back your GPX to your computer via the cable and it should work. I presume you are using windows XP?

I have the MW3837

If you are using Windows Vista with Windows Media Player 11, you will need to follow these instructions.
Note: You will be able to download purchased/subscribed songs to the unit.

1. Start Windows Media Player 11 and then connect your unit to your computer. If you have not set up synchronization between your computer and this device, the Device Setup Wizard starts.
2. In Device Setup - Configure Sync, write a name for your mp3 player.
3. Click Finish. The window closes and the Sync feature in the Player is displayed.
4. From the left pane of this Sync feature, you can select from Playlists or Library and you will see the content of these folders in the center pane.
5. Select the songs or entire albums from the center pane.
6. Drag these songs or albums into the Sync List, which is the right pane of the Sync feature.
7. Click the Start Sync button on the Sync List pane.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 for any other items that you want to copy to your unit.

GPX MW3837

mine did the same thing (I just got it today). I just kept messing with the on off button and somehow it came on.. Now I can't get it to shut off.. the only part of that button that seems to work is hold and unhold now.. lol.. I cant see letting my battery wear down all the time leaving it on.. so I may be returning mine so i can get a replacement.
