SOURCE: another inlet / drain light cycle interruption problem!
When the water stops too soon, it could be the "over flow" is stuck in the downward position, therefore the dishwasher thinks it's going to over flow. Check that out. Otherwise I'm afraid this sounds like the circuit board is shot.

Found the problem after stripping down around the main pump area.
The air pipe connected to the pressure switch on the front right hand side is connected to a small plastic box which in turn is connected to the flow pipe that fills the machine, and the box was completely blocked with slug which stopped the pressure switch from operating and so prevented the water input solenoid from opening. Hence no water would come into the machine

Inside the connector is a flat washer and a mesh filter. one side of the mesh filter has a strip/bar across it, this filter goes into the base of the connector with the strip/bar upwards, make sure it is seated in the connector properly.
Then fit the flat washer ensuring that it is clean/undamaged and lying flat at the base of the connector, the mesh filter strip/bar has at either end a small lip, the washer goes underneath the two lips, if it is placed on top of these lips it leaks!
99% positive on this, if not buy another hose!

I had the same problem on a 5 year old model. It was the main pump leaking from a perished seal causing the water protection microswitch to trip. This gives the symptoms you describe exactly. Parts cost from Miele was about £60 for a new seal. Fairly easy to fit.
