SOURCE: Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 doesn't work
Hi
If you take the batteries out there is a screw in there. unscrew and open (not easy) with flat knife in the edges wiggling.
attach and touch all the inside wires. I have had the same problem and it is an internal connector problem. Opening and closing aint easy and will take a little patience but it will work.
Good luck

SOURCE: why does not microsoft wireless mouse laser 6000 work suddenly?
Well, I had the same problem, too, and I just turned my PC off, waited a few seconds and turned it on again. This means I really turned it off completely; normal restarting didn't work. Maybe that helps you too.

SOURCE: How do I sync a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser
You have to have the mouse and the usb receiver on the same channel. There should be a small button on both devices. First press the button on the mouse to see if starts to work. repeat at least 5 times to get through all the channels. If it doesn't work, then try pressing the buttons on the usb receiver and the mouse. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: microsoft wireless notebook laser mouse 6000 not working
I have a miscrosoft wireless laser mouse 6000, and it also stopped working on my laptop. I changed the battery, still no workie. I tested the battery in another device, and it was good. I moved the mouse to another computer, and it did not work. The light on the usb connector was lit. [No changes at all to my laptop.]. It seemed like there was no power to the mouse, and I looked at the contacts inside the mouse. The contact just inside the mouse's opening for the battery appeared to be bent down (away from the contact on the battery tray). So, I pulled it up a little so it would connect when the battery drawer closed, and (after tweaking it a couple of times), it finally worked!
