How can I solve an error 99 problem in my Canon Rebel xs

I would like to know if you can helpme to fix an err 99 code in a Rebel XS camera , is not the lense the problem appeares to be with the card slot door as soon as I oppened it and close it then the problem seemes to be solved until the camera turns off itself or if I turned it off then the problem appeares again and on the other hand I desable the self cleaning sensor system and when I turned it off the blinking self cleaning icon is not displayed but when you turn it back on then the camera resets it to the on position I really don't know what's going on

Error 99 comes on after I have taken a few pictures. I have tried cleaning with eraser as people have done and it still comes up with message.
