Bernina 640 screen goes black

As I'm sewing the screen will go blank. The light to the machine is still one but no screen. I turn off the machine and then turn it back on. It will sew for a little bit then do the same thing.

I've got a big project to finish! :-/

LED display is black or very dim. Bernina artista 640 machine. Have researched on line, with no help.

There is usually a way of dimming the LED screen, but if that doesn't work, it's possible a computer component is dying.

Screen goes blank and then stops sewing. I have a Bernina Aura 440QE 8years old.

You should probably take it to Bernina for repair. Sounds like possibly a board or component.

I went to use my Bernina 640 after 18 months of storage, and it will not turn on. The screen is blank and the light is not on. The outlet is working, and I triple checked all connections. It just...

Are none of the lights on .... for example, is the sewing light on or the display backlight, even if there's nothing displayed on the screen. If it's completely dead, there may be a problem with the power supply 'L'-print module, but before you go poking-around, please make sure that the machine is dry and has not got damp in storage. Open the bobbin door and check that there's no sign of brown stains around the rotary hook (shuttle). Does the mechanism move OK when you turn the handwheel ? It's important to know whether damp has got into the machine because if-so it's essential to have the machine properly dismantled and dried BEFORE applying power for a long time, since this can destroy the main processor board, which is very expensive to replace.

How to find out usage on my Bernina 640 w/embroidery

For a 640: Make sure the machine is off then Press the reverse button and the needle up/down button at the same time and keep pressing while turning on the machine until the service screen come up. Select the "i" icon and then the icon that has a picture with the clock and a question mark. That will show you the hours and stitch count used. To exit the service program just turn off the machine.
