SOURCE: component speaker not working

The easiest thing to test is to try swapping the connections of the front component speakers at the amp connections. If the problem follows the speakers, the issue is probably with the speakers. I would triple check (again) the speaker wire connections. It's also possible the crossover for the driver side component speakers has an issue (thus why the tweeter worked for a while).

If the problem stays on the drivers side, the issue is probably with that channel on the amp. Triple check the RCA connections for that channel.

It's much easier to test other speakers on an amp channel versus trying to check it with a meter.

If the driver's door is "abused" often, my initial thought is the wiring at the speaker or the wiring in the speaker (to voice coil, within the crossover, etc) is the most likely culprit.

SOURCE: Amp Issues

1) Make sure a bridged load of no less than 4 ohms is applied.
2) make sure both the left & right channels are working.

SOURCE: No sound output from Center and Surround speakers

the only time the center and surround speakers put out sound is when it has a surround sound source such as a dvd etc. and only certain sounds come from them as well.

OmniS10 does not work

Mine has issue with the sub input that runs from the receiver sub output. So I don't have the LFE effect. I have to use the secondary hookup which is:
-run your front speaker wires from the receiver into the input. Then run wires out back to your front speakers.
Is your completely dead period? Or is the light coming on? If its dead, it may be a fuse or the power supply has failed....if the light comes on. Try the secondary hookup. Make sure both your reciever and the sub are unplugged. Plug them back in after you have hooked everything up..

Can I use a JS650 with a new Harman Kardon AVR1600 Home Theater receiver? The HR is 7.1 however the JS650 has only speaker wire connectors. Thank you.

Yes. You run the front channel speaker wiring to IT then the the front speakers attach beyond it from thye OUTS. Set the level for the sub to match the other speakers using the knob on the back.

Your amps don't 'drive' the sub, they just pass through it to the fronts while the sub samples the programming.

How do u hook up the infinity entra sub it has speaker level(input and output) that look like these red and black spots r for spearker wires and then line level input so I connect my music to the rca plugs...

Maybe if you described the setup with exact model numbers for everything involved we might be able to answer with specifics.

You could poke around her for the Entra Manual for YOUR model.

http://manuals.harman.com/INF/Hom/Owner's%20Manual/

What they do NOT explicitly tell you is that the amp in the sub is not for your other speakers running off it's Speaker Level outputs. They're just there as a pass-through if you use Speaker Level from your own amp.

Line Level (RCA) IN to the sub will NOT pass anything out those Speaker level outputs.

Amp is shutting off after 10 min of driving!! please help!!

Does it happen at all volume levels?
What is the gain setting on the sub amp?
Have you checked for 12V @ remote turn on after problem occurs?
Sounds as if the remote turn on relay inside the amplifier is losing signal, or has become damaged. If the protection light does not light up, the problem is not thermal, shorting, or high/low voltage.
The amplifier is in need of repair. This is not an end-user fix. Looking at about $50 to repair.

Thanks for using FixYa- a FixYa rating is appreciated!!

INFINITY AMP PROTECTION LIGHT FLASHING

Overload maybe. If the amp is run at an improper impedence, the amp will shut down. If you are "CLIPPING" speakers / subwoofers the light will blink to indicate a hard clip . Example: 4ohm/2ohm stable amp with 4 ohm subs wired at 1 ohm.

Sony powered sub keeps clicking in and out.

If you have to hook up other speakers through the sub, then it also amplifies the signals for the other speakers too. You can purchase an new amp for your sub here.

NO RESPONSE FROM YAMAHA YST-SW305/205

Hi Ron,

It sounds like the sub is not auto turning on, or has no audio output, and or the sub driver itself has failed. Do you have a multimeter, and we can diagnose the unit? :)
