R1 signaling and R1 modified signaling

What is the difference between R1 signaling and R1 modified signaling?

  • pltelmosse Aug 06, 2009

I didn't ask for how to set it up... I ask for the technical differences between R1 modified and R1 "standard".

Normal R1 is like so :

A : Goes offHook, wait for B's answer and then send KP(DNIS)ST KP(ANI)ST

B : detects A's offHook, send a Wink, wait for A's sent MFs, then comes offhook.

Now, on the modified R1, what is modified? What makes it modified?

    Thanks for your efforts.

I didn't ask how to set -it up, I asked what was the difference between R1 modified and plain R1.

What part of the protocole is makes it modified...?

R1-Modified enables/disables a modified version of R1 signaling (described in the ITU recommendation Q.310-332) that is required in Taiwan. Only set this option to "yes" if the unit is located in Taiwan.

Have Grasslin GM Series 30 amp timer. R1 resistor is burned out. Can you give me the ohm value and wattage for R1 on the pc board.

R1 is probably different for different models of the timer.

Normally if R1 is burned... look carefully and other nearby parts have signs of burning also.
R1 is the first place you see the overheat problem,,, and that's true with the older and newer models in the GM and Woods series timers, including defrost series.

Contact Intermatic.com and see if they offer a schematic and replacement parts sheet... but I've not seen a parts sheet.

The timer is usually taken out of service and replaced once R1 is burned.
Frequently these timers with burned R1 are sold on ebay after they have been removed from service... simply because the timer looks good or repair seems simple.

Replace timer?

Signal lights on R1 don't work...

Though I can't recall what the wire colors are for your bike's turn signals, here's how to figure it out: on the turn signals that you bought, first determine which wire is the ground by removing the light bulb and then checking to see which wire has continuity to the turn signal's metal bulb socket base.
Then find out which wire is the running light and which is the turn signal by hooking the ground wire and one of the other wires to a 12 volt power source. Which ever wire makes the brighter part of the bulb light up is the turn signal - the dimmer one is for the running light.
On the bike, match the turn signal wire to the bike's wiring that is 'hot' with the turn signal switch on. Plug the running light wire from the turn signal into the bike's wiring that is 'hot' whever the key is on. Hook the turn signal ground wire to the bike's ground wire(s).

How much and what of oil is the best kind of oil for a yamaha r1 2007 with 8000 miles

Full synthetic oil will work the best for your bike. Synthetic has been over-engineered in a good way.

P.S: DO NOT USE car synthetic oil as they have TOO MUCH friction modifiers (not good for wet clutch).

Changing frames on a 2007 r1 to a 2004 frame

The frame part numbers are totally different. It is very unlikely a drop-in swap will happen. The '04 frame may need to be modified to accept the '07 motor.
