Car radio code

I have a 1998 Honda CRV that I had to jump start and something happened to the radio/cd player in the process. When I turn it on, it says CODE and won't play or accept a CD. Can I fix this myself? If so, what do I do?

When you bought the car. It came with a manuel and paper work for the radio. there is a code on these papers. It five digits long. If the code is not there you have to go to the dealer where you bought the car. Hopefully it was a honda dealer. They should have it on file if your the orginal owner.

Hi there,

You should have a Radio code supplied with the vehicle - probably in the Owners Manual or Radio Manual. If you haven't got one you can contact Honda probably by E-Mail is best and supply them with the Engine Number and Chassis Number of the Vehicle and they should be able to provide you with the code providing the Radio is one of theirs. Hope this helps.

My Honda, CRV 2006 stalled, I was back in business after getting a boost but now radio/CD is not working. Please help.

If your battery was completely dead the car has to be reset. Look in your owners manual and see if there is something about resetting certain functions if you have a dead battery. You might need the code for the radio/CD player to get it working again. A dealer can provide you with it, but you will need positive ID that you are the owner of the car.

Require Code to enter in the radio after changing a battery.

You can look to see if there is a sticker under the fuse box lid under the hood or in the glove box. Almost all of the Honda's I've worked on is where i can get the radio code. If the sticker is un-readable, log on to https://radio-navicode.honda.com/. Good luck and hope this helps.

My daughter owns a 2001 Honda Civic EX. After

The exact problem happened to me...

Opposed to a blown fuse, most likely the drained/dead battery caused the radio to "reset" itself. You should have a 5 digit (or 4) code that was provided by the dealer or owner. Most owners write it down somewhere on their owners manual. If not, the dealer can give you the code. Once the code is entered, you back in business!

Good luck!

'03 Honda Accord won't recognize CD player after battery replaced

I have a crv also. the audio system has an anti-theft mechanism, to deter thieves from stealing your cd player/radio. you need a code to turn your unit back on, usually a four or five digit code, that should have been provided when you bought the vehicle. If you don't have it, the unit will come back on after, and only after a full, uninterupted hour of driving.

Cd player not working

If it were locked it would ask for a code on the radio display, more likely the radio's CD changer is defective, they are very prone to failure.
