Do you mean a charger plugged in for four months ? or the battery pack on the scooter for four months ? if it not charging and left on the scooter they will discharge and may never recover.

Leaving it on charge for four months ?, the charger will go into trickle charge mode once it fully charged the batteries, manufacturers will agree this is a good thing , if left for weeks and weeks , it should be charged up fully once a week if not in use and i recommend removing the battery case as i seen issues arise from leaving a battery pack on a scooter for long periods of time, for starters they discharge quicker,.

SOURCE: where and how do I replace my battery for my pride

Do not use batteries with different amp-hour (Ah) capacities. Do not mix old and new batteries. Always replace both batteries at the same time.

MANDATORY!
Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds. Wear goggles and gloves when handling batteries and wash hands after handling.

WARNING! Always use two batteries of the exact same type, chemistry, and amp-hour (Ah) capacity. Use 12 Volt deep cycle batteries.

1.Remove the battery pack from the Travel Scooter.

2.Carefully turn the pack upside down.
3.Remove the eight (8) screws from the perimeter of the battery pack.
4.Carefully turn the pack right side up and remove the lid.

5.Disconnect the black (-) and red (+) battery cables from the battery terminals.
6.Remove the old battery.
7.Place a new battery in the battery pack.
8.Connect the red battery cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.
9.Connect the black battery cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
10.Position the lid back onto the battery pack ensuring all wires are inside the pack so they don’t become pinched.
11.Carefully turn the pack upside down.
12.Reinstall all screws and tighten.
13.Charge the new batteries for 8-14 hrs before the first use.
I hope this helps and good luck!

SOURCE: I have a gogo three wheeler and some times when i

The go go controller has a controller which will give you a specific beep code to indicate the problem with your scooter. From what you are describing, it seems that the throttle potentiometer is out of neutral at start-up. The controller needs to electrically sense the throttle pot is in neutral (center of left and right) to start. By turning the scooter on and off you are jiggling the pot enough to get it to zero out(go to neutral).
Please get back to me with the exact model of the go go and with the exact number of beeps in the error code and I will be able to diagnose the problem in a more definitive way.
The most common error codes involve the throttle pot out of neutral at start-up and the brake freewheel lever is in freewheel.
You can see if the throttle pot is out of neutral by moving it slightly in either direction with one hand and turning the scooter off and on with the other hand. If the scooter works by this slight adjustment of the pot, then this part needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: wiring for pride ultra x GoGo .... under the

usually there are tons of wires which are put in these units for diverse purposes. As you stated it could be for the diagnostic computer. Although it could also be for another purpose but most likely one or more sensors on the unit. Usually i would say if the unit does not undergo any malfunction then it is best left alone. What other symptoms does the unit show which you think is caused by the wire?

SOURCE: I have a pride gogo

  • What that flash code indicates that there is that the battery voltage is to high to operate the scooter. This can happen for a number of reasons and from out of no where. The manual says you should contact GoGo for this problem. But I know a couple things to try and if they do not work then you need to contact GoGo.
  1. First remove the battery connectors for 5 full minutes and see if that resets it.
  2. You may have a wire that got caught up somewhere so check all wires for breaks in the insulation, cracks etx.
  3. Check the fuse as well.
  4. Push in the main circuit breaker reset button (see diagram)

  • Here is the GoGo Pride Scooter website should you need to contact them and if what I listed does not work then you need to. The things I list are some at home troubleshooting tips GoGo does not offer. They say to contact them immediately. http://www.pridemobility.com/contact.asp

SOURCE: battery stuck in pride gogo mobility scooter how to remove

Hello Bruce,if you contact a local dealer for your scooter.Ask them to download you an owners manual, there will more than likely be a small fee for this.Alternatively visit the Products website & ask the same question, this may be a better option as there may be no fee. They could send you 1 in the post.I hope this has helped you,Colin.

My gogo elite traveller wont chrage. The charging light isnt on when i plug the scooter in.

Sounds your batteries are to low in voltage for the charger to recognize. Also check the fuse on the battery box, normally a red one 10amps.

I have a new charger for my gogo there are only 2 wires that connect to the plug but there are threes oins how is thaty supposde to charge

First is a question.. Is the charger you received one for the GOGO Ultra?.. or is it one that you want to work with the GOGO? The reason I ask is that the three pins on the charger are the positive, negative, and sensing lines. The charger applies a high charge current to a drained battery and lowers the charge as the battery voltage rises. This is why it takes about 24 hours to fully charge the batteries since the charge current tapers off as the battery rises to fully charged. This is done to keep the batteries from suffering thermal shock at the end of their charge cycle. The correct replacement charger should have the three pins already on it and should simply plug into the battery socket with the three female pins aligned to the male ones. If yours only has two pins, it is the wrong charger, and could damage your scooter by an uncontrolled curtent being applied to the batteries.

One could fabricate the control line by applying a load resister from the + line to the control pin, which would appear to the charger as the battery being a lower voltage, but this would possibly cause a lot of grief to the scooter more than likely.

The batteries MUST be Gel-Cell batteries too... do NOT buy tractor batteries to install on the scooter because Gel-Cells are made for a constant draw for an extended period of time such as when you drive around the block, as opposed to lead-acid batteries which are made to have only a quick power draw such as starting an engine for a couple of seconds. This is a difference in cost from $20 to $100 for example. This will destroy your charger as well as boil out the water in the lead acid batteries... Don't do this.

Your GOGO should have a 2 year warranty, so I suggest checking to see if yours is in that time frame to get the charger covered hopefully.

Look at the operator manual here:

http://www.pridemobility.com/includes/download.php?f=Owners_Manuals/US_Scooter/Multi_Universal_Travel_Scooter_Series_OM.pdf

I work on these scooters on a regular basis, and have seen this before. I hope this helps some as well.

Here is a link to a charger on ebay currently that I see for around $13.00 to look at:http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/180533905508?lpid=82

I hope this helps you there. Let me know if I can be of further help to you.

Gogo elitescooter lights indicate battery fully charged but scooter will not go

Make sure the free-wheel lever is engaged and the charger is unplugged from the scooter before you try to turn the scooter on. If the battery gauge goes up when you turn the scooter on and there are no beeping sounds you should be good to go.If the battery gauge drops to the red when you try to accelerate slowly, your batteries are shot. (Typical replacement in 24-48 months). If there is any beeping when the key is first turned on then there is a problem and the number of beeps indicates the problem found by the computer during the POST. My father-in-laws gogo will be not used for several months while he's in florida. how should the battery be stored/charged while not in use?

Charge the batteries fully and remove the battery pack from the scooter. About once a month charge the battery pack. It shouldn't take long to charge since you are not using the scooter Don't overcharge when the light on the charger turns green turn it off and unplug it from the battery pack. This should keep the batteries fully charged and fresh when FIL gets back home. Hope this helps you
