I just had this happen. I was struck by lightning so yours might be different. I replaced the display board and the control board and my heater is up and running.

SOURCE: Hayward H400 heater problem

LO usually indicates low water pressure. Check the pressure in your filter. You may need to backwash. If the filter is to clogged then the water pressure in the heater is so low that it won't activate the pressure switch. While checking the pressure turn the pump off and then on to make sure the pressure gauge is actually working. Also check the pressure coming out of the inlets into the pool. You should be able to tell if you have sufficient water pressure.

you may need to bleed the line to get fresh gas to the unit, you can use soapy water to check, that the fitting leak free, after bleeding at the block.

I have a hayward 400idl heater that is stuck in stand by mode. any ideas?

Hi
If you have a auto control system like a Aqualink,Aqualogic Put the controller in service than select heat. Check and make sure the service light is not on also. What happens when you press the mode button. If nothing and the button membrain looks good. open the front panel there is a ribbon cable that goes to the display and plugs into a control board in the back. Unplug the cable and plug it back in "Be Careful The Pins bend very easyly. Try the mode button again. Is there any error codes on the display?

Hayward H400FDN won't stay lit

It is probably not sensing flame. You either have a clogged orifice underneath the flame sensor and you probably need to have the gas pressure assessed, meter size and gas valve pressure adjustment. These heaters need 2" wc of gas pressure.

Hayward H400 Pool heater will not stay lit

"IF" - Hayward Pool Heater Fails to Ignite: the most common reason for this problem is insufficient gas supply. The Hayward heater LED display will show a diagnostic fault code of "IF" which stands for Ignition Failure. Undetected gas pressure problems if not investigated properly may result in unnecessary replacement and servicing of your Hayward Pool Heater.
