A bad water valve would that be the reason for water to be getting in the ice tray
SOURCE: Water is draining into my freezer
This water comes from the defrost cycle. The drain hole is probably plugged with food. The drain usually goes to a small pan under the condenser where it eventually evaporates. Look for a hole or slot in the bottom of the unit.
SOURCE: water leaks from top mounted freezer area into the refrigerator
Remove the food from the freezer and the icemaker if equiped . Remove the air tower at the rear of the freezer section and remove the rear panel inside the freezer . Using a hair dryer to the drip pan , below the coils ( probably ice ) , starting at the center , defrost until you see the drain hole . Keep defrosting the hole ( hot water helps ) until water starts to flow down . Using a short piece of hose , insert it into the drain hole and blow . This should blow out any debris inside the drain hole . I would use a short piece of solid ALUMINUM wire ( 14-16 guage about 8 " long ) striped of all insulation , and insert it into the hole as far as possible , without any force . Wrap the other end about 1--1 1/2 turns around the black tube ( defrost heater ) above the hole . When the heater comes on , heat will transfer to the aluminum wire and keep the drain from freezing up again . Reasemble back panel , air tower , and , icemaker . Reinstall the food and its FIXYA'd .

That MIGHT be the control board but before you order anything you should check the thermistors. The board relies on data from them thermistors. If one is out of spec or even out of spec then that throws a monkey wrench in the works. What you need is a manual which shows the locations of these thermistors and some diagnostics info. SOURCE: On the water value part
Hi,
On all new valves, the push on fitting are to the unit, screw on type are for the source (hence water line from the wall). I hope this helps.
Good Luck
