My Viking Opal 690Q sewing machine is skipping stitches and not bringing the bobbin thread all the way up to make a stitch. This happens mostly when sewing fleece but I have sewn fleece in the past with no issues.

SOURCE: machine is threaded but thread not sewing into material, just holes!

Check bobbin thread....Insert the bobbin thread into the bobbin case in a clockwise direction...pull the thread through the **** on side of bobbin case and slide up into small opening...make sure you pull through about 2 inches of thread to enable upper thread to loop. Good Luck

SOURCE: Shirring fabric?

When putting your shirring elastic on the bobbin, don't thread the elastic through the bobbin holder, adjust the stitch length longer, and loosen the tension, other wise if you want to put it through the bobbin holder you have to loosen the tension screw on the bobbin holder, and then you have to adjust it back for ordinary sewing,

It is skipping stitches.

Use a brand new needle that is a suitable type for the fabric and thread you are sewing. If sewing knit, use a ball-point needle. If sewing woven fabrics, use a sharp needle (ie universal,
Use good quality sewing thread--no old or bargain bin variety.
Be sure to install the needle facing the correct direction. On most machines, the flat side of the needle faces the back of the machine, however, if the bobbin loads on the left side (not from the front), the flat side should face the throat of the machine.
There could also be a burr somewhere that is catching the thread and causing the skipped stitch.

Is skipping stitches randomly with only one color of thread. Have rethreaded, checked bobbin to see if wound evenly, changed needle. Any idea what's happening?

Check to see if thread is the same size or thread type but different color if so your tension on bobbin and top needs to be ajusted

Skipping stitches?

skipped stitches is usually an indication of timing of hook and needle being off. The needle is not always picking up the bobbin thread. Suggest that it be serviced by an authorized Husqvarna Viking Dealer. You can find the nearest dealer by click on the "Dealer" link at http://www.husqvarnaviking.com

Why is my husky viking 170 skipping stitches

The most common cause of skipped stitches is a bent needle; the hook is not meeting up with the needle so a connection isn't made between bobbin and top thread. Try a new needle. If the skipping is consistent and a new needle doesn't help, it might need to be timed (call a tech).

Why won't bobbin thread come up to meet upper thread

When is that happening? Are you unable to bring the bobbin thread up at all so that you can begin stitching, or are you skipping stitches?

Thread breaks and skips stitches

Open the needle plate, remove the bobbin and bobbin case.....refer to your manual.

Clean away lint and threads.

Thread with the presser foot up.

If this continues, take the machine and samples of the mis-stitching in for service. It could be the timing needs to be adjusted by a professional.

Why is my machine skipping stitches

this is caused by uneven winding of the bobbin, sometimes the spool of thread winds unevenly when it travels up and down the spool. the best solution i have found is to use small spools of thread when winding the bobbins
