I have a GE Profile Convection Oven/Microwave Combo and the Microwave has absolutely no power after replacing the outer control panel.

I recently replaced the a Control Sub. Assembly on my GE Profile jt965s0k4ss and after turning on the breaker, the microwave suddenly stopped working. I thought it might be the microwave board so I went ahead and replaced that as well, to no avail. The oven below works perfectly and everything turns on. Is there a specific fuse for the microwave that might have been shot that is causing the microwave to not turn on? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The turntable should have it's own fuse to protect the motor and best to check this seeing that all else turns on

SOURCE: Hi ..Our Microwave stopped working. It is a GE

There is often a fuse and a magnetron thermal fuse or thermostat.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

GE Profile jvm1090ww 01 SN ZR958136 s Convection temperature does not get above 360F when set at 450F. Could never brown meat or bake.

The convection heater is control according to the temperature of the part n 3014 Thermister
Part Number: AP2025611 made by GE

So this is acting like a temperature sensor and it seem that is giving wrong indication to the control panel and switch off the heater at wrong temperature.

So you should replace the thermister.

You can find this and all a other parts of your oven in this link.

Have a GE Profile Microwave/Convection oven. Microwave works, but the convection part does not. Has been this way since installation. Oven will go through preheat cycle, say that oven is preheated but it...

It may be a bad convection heating element or just a bad thermal cutout.

If it's less than one year old, it will be fully covered under warranty and you can contract GE here to have an authorized servicer come out and fix it free.

If it's out of warranty and you or someone you know wants to check it out, I'd first suggest you take a look at the "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit (behind the control panel, hidden on the left side behind the grille, or attached to the inside of the outer cover) which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Otherwise, see these files: safety disassembly

Accessing some parts may require you to pull the oven from the wall and remove the cover.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

Most likely problem is your Smart card has fried. Its located on the removable panel that your display is attached to.If you remove the screws that open this Clock Panel (un plugged from power first) the display panel will swing down and you will see the circuit board I mention (Smart card/control board ).Look for a visible burn on this board. If you see one ,replace the board. Oven Halogen Lamp

It's pretty simple to replace the light without having to remove the oven from the wall...as long as you have an offset phillips screwdriver...

Of course, be sure to disconnect power to microwave and be sure not to touch the new halogen bulb with fingers.

STEP-BY-STEP:
First, remove upper vent panel and remove inner filter (same directions for just replacing inner carbon filter):

Then, remove inner plastic grille (2 screws) and final screw on left side of metal "air duct" - here's where you'll need the offset screw driver (and a little patience!):

Then, you can gently lift the sheet metal panel, find the light housing, squeeze and remove/replace :)

That's it...just replace bulb and reverse for reassembly. Be sure to keep track of screw locations there are various sizes/lengths used.
