My P3002 seems to be stuck in thermal protect.I pulled it out of the cupboard recently and hooked it up the logo lights up the thermal protect light comes on and that's it. I checked my connections they are all proper. The amp worked when I put it in the cupboard and had not been disturbed until I pulled it out the other day. Any help or tutorials on troubleshooting and repair is greatly appreciated.

If the amplifier goes into protect when there are no speaker wires connected to the amp, the amp is likely defective. The most likely culprit is shorted output transistors. If it's new, return it to the place of purchase for repair/replacement.

un hook the subs and let the amp sit there on if the protect light shuts off you wired your subs wrong if it doesnt go off tun it off then back on with no sub music all the way down then slowly turn the music up if the light is off then comes on you need new rcas

Check you inputs to verify you have a signal coming in, if signal then check outputs try a speaker that you know is working and plug it in if that speaker plays then the subs/ or speaker wiring is bad, if it doens't play then you probably have a blown output transistor on the amp or possibly a terminal ground/positive has come loose on the inside..

If the thermal light is on there is probably a bad thermistor. The thermistors allow voltage to pass through after achieving a certain temperature threshold. This then triggers the protection IC the LM339. It is an easy repair for an experienced tech, but schematics and proper equipment is needed for repairs.
