SOURCE: Card Locked ! Error

Remove SD card, then whilst card is removed, delete all pictures that may still be stored in cameras 'internal' memory (usually just a few) then replace SD card. Should be unlocked now?.

SOURCE: HP Photosmart R967 memory card is locked...

I have an HP R927 and just had the same problem. Take out your memory card. Look on the side of the card and you will see and white "knobby thing" ... make sure it is pushed up ... that should fix it.

Memory card locked! My camera suddenly gives this error. I have already checked if actually the card is locked but it isn't. I have also formated the card, and tried with another card: the camera gives...

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. The second most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. There are also other common causes if the above didn't help, with troubleshooting steps for this problem listed here.

How to reformat memory card with an I/O error

Hello,

first check whether the memory card is out of lock by moving the lock bar in your memory card to unlock.
Then insert the card and go to start accesorries> command prompt
(right click the command prompt and run as administrator if in vista or 7). In the command prompt screen type : format (enter the drive letter and : /s ) . now the card will be formated.

Canon IXUS 95 IS gives me a report: card locked, while the card is not locked; gives me a report; memory card error please tell me what is wrong?

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out (note, this is not the problem with your newer model camera). Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

When I put the memory card in and turn on the camera, it keeps saying memory card error.

Hi,

If camera show Memory Card Error, Check whether the card is inserted properly or not. For SD card, check out the card lock switch is in the correct position and not stuck in between.

You can Format the memory card in the camera using the Setup Menu option (Format). Please be aware that formatting the memory card will remove any images currently stored on the card along with any other data.

If after formatting the card do not clear the error, try another memory card. If this occurs with only the one card it is likely that the memory card is defective, if the error persists over more than one card the camera may require service.

Rating the solution is highly appriciated...Good Luck
